Changed Homepage

Hi everyone. A friend of mine bought a laptop at a local pawn shop with Windows 7 on it and asked me to look at it. He has never owned a computer and knows nothing about it so I am trying to set some things up for him and teach him how to use it.

Every time I google something I will be misdirected to a different web site other than the one clicked on. Also his home page is changed. Is there any other explanation other than some sort of virus that could cause such a thing? I am currently running a virus program but nothing has been found so far. Thanks.

There is probably a lot of browser hijacks on it, run the program below,

Download AdwCleaner http://general-changelog-team.fr/fr/downloads/finish/20-outils-de-xplode/2-adwcleaner
Link below too for your convenience.

Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
***Note: Windows Vista and Windows 7 users:

Right click in the adwCleaner.exe and select "run as adminstrator"

1 Click the Search button.

2 A logfile will automatically open after the scan has finished.

3 Please post the content of that logfile in your next reply.

4 Or you can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[R1].txt.
