I use a Mac and have noticed from time to time that in responses to my messages the font size of my original message is quite small (maybe 8 points). I don't know what that is and it doesn't seem to happen all the time. Your SIL should probably check with one of the forums dedicated to Mac users.

Ginny, I had this very question a while back and found a solution at userstyles.org. In Firefox I was able to accomplish this by 1) downloading the Stylish add-on and 2) going to this site: http://userstyles.org/styles/27916/bigger-gmail-compose-box-tested-2010-05-04 and clicking to install the script for Stylish. Works like a charm. My compose window area almost fills the page ! :-) Once the script is installed, you may need to go into Stylish on your browser and change the numbers to suit your preferences -- click the Stylish icon on the status bar or address bar (if it's not in either place, right-click on a browser bar somewhere and select 'customize' and drag the Stylish icon to a browser bar). I much prefer to look at photo number 1. It's peaceful.....like the path less taken. However, when I saw the mockups with the actual frame, I don't think it looks that good in it. Number 2 I guess looks better in it to me. What I would do with image #1 is to mat it in black and place in a black frame. Hubby has something similar in his office done by a local semi-famous photographer, and it looks fabulous like that (imo). I'm sure whichever you choose will look great to you, esp. with the memories attached. Oh, and I didn't finish reading all the replies, but saw some great mockups with the Indian pics in the frame.....they look really good in it. I think they match the personality of the frame better than the photographs.....

I'm not sure I get what you mean by "copy from a machine". You mean - print a page that you're looking at on your computer ? It depends on which program you're printing from. In a program like MS Word, you can set the font size for the whole page or just part(s) of the page. In a browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox, there are settings for font size that are global and affect every page and thus how large the words will print out. For many programs like browsers or say, Adobe Reader, you can also set in "Print Setup" the scale or zoom factor to 100%, or 90%, or 80% or the like, which will affect the size that pages print out. And some of them will keep the last setting. So if you change the scale to 150%, and a week later decide to print again from that program, it will again print at 150%. If I'm not sure how things might turn out, I often use Print Preview, usually (in Windows) in the the "File" drop down menu to see how a page is going to print out. Also many printers have a "Show before printing" setting which gives you one last chance to see what's going to happen.
