Can one play the audio but not the video on internet?

I've found a vintage ditty I like. The audio is good but the video is really bad. I've no idea as to how to find rare vintage audio on a audio down load site, especially since I don't know the name of the ditty or the artist.

Is there something similar to a 'mute' that stops the video but lets the audio resume?

I don't know of a way but if it were me I would just record it while I played it. Windows sound recorder would work or you could go for something more full-featured like Audacity.
