trying to get itunes to work on new computer

I have installed itunes on my new computer, windows 7, mozilla fox, I also have an ipad.

I have music that I bought on ipad and on old computer.
I transferred my music from old computer to new.computer.
It will not play on new computer because it says new computer is not authorized.

I went to my account and it shows that I have one device on it.
It says
PC(db**********) which I presume is a password or number from my old computer.
It show a place I can remove it but nothing else . I want to edit it to put in my new computer but they only give me a choice to remove old.
Anyways if I could put in new one I am not sure where to find that number they have in brackets after PC.

If anyone is following this rambling , please help.
Thanks

Did have iTUNES installed on that computer before?

If so then we will need to uninstall everything called iTunes, quicktime etc

Zep,

This is a new computer I picked up a few days ago.
I had Itunes on my old computer but not on this new one.

I just downloaded itunes and quicktime today .
When I sign in with my apple id and password it brings me to my account and shows that I have some music and all the apps that I bought that are on my ipad but when I go to play my music that is when it says this computer is not authorized .

I go to authorize and put in id and password but it will not go thru and still says not authorized.

OK,

Open iTunes From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu). When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.

Is that what you're doing.
