My computer crashed a couple of months ago. I couldn't find my re-install CD at the time so we used a friend's re-install CD, mine was Windows XP theirs is Windows XP Professional-I know that is against the rules, but hey we both bought our computers and paid for this stuff so no harm done. I can't get any of my updates because I have a different version of windows than was originally installed on the computer at the factory. All of this info probably doesn't matter because my question is how do I get all of this off of my computer and re-install my Windows XP?

WARNING!!!! I am a computer dummy so be nice. I check my email do some surfing and upload pics, I don't really use it for much of anything else and I get by just fine, I just don't know anything about the technical end of things.

Bottom line, how do I wipe my computer clean and start fresh-I have already downloaded everything I want to keep onto a memory stick, now I just want to crash.

I have a Dell 4550 Dinosaur
