We spent 2 days in Austin and had a wonderful time but I never got to a library and also it was too fun to be inside :) I really appreciate the cheers from everyone. Oh. Mah. Gawd. You guys are freaks -- freaks, I tell you! And I love you all the more because you're so freeeeaky! There is some amazingly awesome stuff in this thread. Makes me want to add even more bizarre stuff to my house, because, really, who wants to live without humor and whimsy and ... freakishness in their lives? ;-D Well, I'm the only person I know of whose house is Tudor cottage in the outside, Little Mexico on the inside. What's odd is that I recently learned from the woman who grew up in the house in the 40's that her mother was fluent in Spanish and had a love affair going on with the Latino culture. I had sent this woman some current house pix, and she said her mother would have loved it. Here are a few of my oddities: This hideous little truck - how I love it! It's moved from my kitchen to my living room mantle. My nephew came over one day and played with it, and ended up gouging the wooden bun feet of my sofa with it. ::sigh:: I have a Tatouage chicken on my hallway wall: There's a rusting rooster guarding my side entry: And a scary troll dude sitting on my front porch.

If your closet is 3.5' deep you have plenty of room to put in a computer desk. I am not talking about having you to work inside the closet. Just having the desk and shelves in the closet. Then you open the bifold doors and pull up a chair and pull out the keyboard tray from the desk. You would have lots of breathing room. You wouldn't be *inside* the closet at all. You could keep all the peripherals off to the side in the closet behind the wall that you say you have for storage in the closet. When you are done move the chair back and pull the closet doors closed. All the paperwork mess is hidden. You could build a custom desk and shelving as another option. If you really want to put a TV on the room, why not consider puttting the TV on the wall above the dresser rather than having the mirror. Could this work for you? You have a connecting bathroom with a mirror to use and probably do not need another huge mirror a few steps away in the bedroom. Mirrors in bedrooms are bad Feng Shui anyway, then again, so are having TVs in the bedroom, but if it fits your lifstyle then do it. You could also get a matching modular entertainment center put the TV in it and use the drawers for your socks and sweaters. There is no rule that says you have to use the drawers for media related items.

By sound system do you mean the sound drivers in as per viewed in control panel or a physical system of speakers and amps recognized by the computer? It could be one of many things if you have a complicated sound system. but if you only have a pair of speakers plugged in directly to the laptop we just might be able to help out. do give us details.
