I have always done quite a bit of canning at peak times and I haven't had it cause any burner problems or anything, but then I don't can CONSTANTLY like some of the folks on the Harvest Forum do. On the old stove, it is only the oven that has gone out, so we are going to hang on to it a while....just put it out in the garage/barn. I am not sure about canning on the new stove, and need to do some research (and quickly!). I've thought about getting a big turkey fryer and using it to do my canning....lots of people do that so they can do the canning outside and avoid heating up the house. Speaking of not heating up the house.....one of our neighbors lives in a home his relatives built in 1912. I love that old house! The kitchen is so large you could live in it alone! They have a separate "summer kitchen" about 60' from the main house, and it is the only home around here with a summer kitchen still standing, although I don't think they've used it as a summer kitchen in many years. I'd love to have a summer kitchen. I AM real excited about the convection oven. We never would have spent the money to get a stove this fancy at regular retail prices (living on one income, we've learned to be pretty thrifty). Getting it at the outlet store, though, saved us about 30% and it was brand new--not used/returned/repaired like some of them are (described on their tags as "reconditioned"). It had "damage".....a scratch on the side that you won't see because that side sits next to a wall, so it was a terrific deal. That scratch was the only thing "wrong" with it, and I can't believe a 4" long scratch saved us hundreds of dollars. I suspect the new stove is smarter than all of us humans. For example, I can set it on the convection mode and tell it I am going to bake a cake at 375 degrees (the temperature given on the cake recipe). The stove then will automatically adjust the temperature downward as needed since a convection oven cooks more quickly. I also could adjust it manually, but will just let the stove's brain figure it out! It also has a warming drawer which our older stove did not. While we were at the Sears outlet store, I was drooling over some of the French Door refrigerators with the freezer compartment on the bottom. I also saw some new ultra-modern and gorgeous stainless steel freezers. Now, I don't need a new refrigerator or freezer yet, but I know what I do want when (and if) either one of them ever die. Dawn

When I was looking around for a range I was very close to getting a high end 36" pro range with a grill but had some concerns about a modern looking range in my older home and the all modern range reliability issues highlighted on this Board. A local appliance repair company owner acquaintance suggested that I look at a Chambers - advanced features, very reliable because the components are so heavy duty, and readily available parts. Ultimately I got the Chambers. The reliability was the clincher. I just don't have the patience or the time for service calls. I also have childlocks, nicely configured and performing burners, a griddle and broiler on the top of the range, retained heat cooking, and a really beautiful piece of equipment that is definitely not run of the mill and that fits with my home. As far as what I thought were potential negatives... I do only have 9,000 BTU burners. I was pleasantly surprised by their output and control. Hadn't really believed all the folks raving about them until I tried them myself. Pilot lights. I do have them and they do consume some gas. On the other side of the coin I don't have the ignitor woes that folks mention on this board. I have also found that the moderate amounts of gas that the pilot lights consume are more than balanced by what I save with the Chambers' retained heat cooking in both the regular oven and the smaller Thermobaker. Basically, the Chambers oven is super insulated. I can cook a chicken by turning the gas on for 20 minutes and then turning it off and cooking on retained heat until it is done (the results are just superior compared to traditional ovens). I also have the smaller thermobaker mini oven. I can very efficiently cook individual meals or baked goods in it. It dawned on me after I got the Chambers that using the thermobaker is significantly more efficient than running the oven on a 36" range to make one cherry pie. And I guess there is the case for not expending energy on making a new range. I didn't get my grill. This has not been the big deal I thought it would be. I use my stove top broiler. My conclusion after the tortuous range decision process is that there is no perfect range, just what is the best choice for your individual needs. I am extremely happy with my Chambers. I don't see an issue with AVG on 7. I do see an issue with McAfee see link. If you like AVG and are use to it then for sure consider it. Download it to the desktop and install it. If you restored to factory settings like you said McAfee should not be active, a perfect time to uninstall it. It should uninstall using programs and features, we don't even need to worry about that yet because no McAfee files are running yet. Note The McAfee removal tool is not removing some new versions of McAfee. "Enterprise Software Detected" please contact McAfee. Lets avoid that or it's off to Revo un installer. When you get home connect Ethernet cable to the laptop. Then try going to www.google.com. Only go there just see if Google opens. Let us know if you get this far and we can give you a direct link for AVG so you may install that. Then while McAfee is not active we can uninstall it as I mentioned. If you want I can look at a hijack log for you after.

Here is the skinny, Get yourself to the site raven suggested. If you are infected with System Check it is important that you do not delete any files from your Temp folder or use any temp file cleaners. This is because when the infection is installed it will delete shortcuts found in various locations and store backups of them in the %Temp%\smtmp folder. It does this so that you when try to launch a program from your start menu, none of your shortcuts will appear and thus making you think that your computer has a serious problem. Therefore, you do not want to delete any of the files in your Temp folder as it will remove the backups that we will use later in the guide to restore your Windows Start Menu. To make matters worse, recent variants of this family have been know to install the TDSS or ZeroAccess rootkits as well. These rootkits will attempt to stop you from using security programs that may help you to remove this infection. Good luck. Joe
