Where do I look on Windows XP to see what version of firefox I am currently using?

open the browser and click on help, then "about Firefox. I have w 7 but maybe the same instructions.

Thanks popmama! I could have sworn I was logged in with FF, but earlier I had to log in while using Chrome to read and post. Just now I clicked on the email notification of your post and it opened Firefox - now I can read the posts in FF. So indeed it must have been I was not logged in earlier! It shouldn't behave that way, but now that I now the "secret" I'll be able to use my usual browser.

Firefox 5 Gas Stove

Hi All, I have just picked up a Firefox 5 Gas stove. I will be having it installed by a gas engineer but I am preparing the fireplace myself. I took the old fireplace out and am straightening up the brickwork on the sides to fit lining and a new hearthstone. Round the back of the stove, there is a metal box bolted on. There is what looks like a cable connected to it but there doesn't seem to be anything inside the box section itself. Does anyone know what this is and if it can be removed? If it can be removed I can put the fireplace further back inside the chimney so it does not stick out the front as much. Any help would be appreciated. I have attached a picture of the box.

RitaWeeda, You can set Firefox not to automatically install updates. Current versions ... Options \ General, scroll down to Firefox Updates section and select "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" It may be under a different menu structure if you're on an older version. It may still advise that an update is available but won't automatically install it. You can check manually check for updates by clicking on Help / About Firefox. It will check from there if any updates are available, advise you accordingly, and offer to fetch and install. I've been using Firefox since the 0.xx versions.

Can you tell me how to find out what version of Internet Explorer I am using?

Thank you everyone for your quick feedback. I will write this information down as I have needed to know it several times and did not know how to find it.

Now hopefully, I can follow the instructions to see if I can get my Real Player download software working for my video MP4.

The "About " entry on a application Toolbar is almost a universal location for finding version information. There at times can also be links to update inquiries and homepages.

I appreciate the information, I did not know anything about the "about" entry.

Now, that I know all this hopefully it will be the same when I change to Windows 7 later this year.
