question about an online games site

My question is about registering with gamesgames.com to play "Word Link".

Is http://www.gamesgames.com/ a legitimate site? Meaning that it is ok to register with the it --- and I will probably only have to put up with tracking devices such as cookies that result from this site. Not viruses, malware etc.

In another place it says: "Gamesgames.com is the biggest online games site for families offering a large variety of cooking games, time management games, dress-up games, design games, and other fun games. Users can play interactively with peers, and with new games constantly being added, they will never get bored!"

It appears to be part of Spilgames (http://www.gamesgames.com/privacy-policy.html ) which started in the Netherlands. And/or with king.com Ã¯Â¿Â½ which is "Europe's first website for skill games where you can win money by participating in tournaments."
(I will not be playing for money.)

Is there a handy-dandy place for people (like me) to go to in order to find out if the games is safe to register for?

Webuation gives them high marks.

Always remember you should not use your real name when registering anywhere, this helps you stay anonymous.

For myself I would be running a scan after each visit for the first few times to ensure they have not given me any kind of spam.

If you installed WOT, Web of Trust, you would be able to decide the safety of most sites when Googling as EmmaR did before posting her comment to you.

I learned about that years ago, I lost $40. on a game I bought for myself and my sister. My information never matched what they had on their records. They helped me once, then it happened again I just wrote it off as a learning experience. I buy all my games retail, none online. That is why it irritates me that they still can plant cookies when I don't even visit their site. Iwin games are terrible about forcing you to use their game manager and go on line when you play. I emailed them and was told how to avoid the game manager and the connection. I still got their cookies so I put the url address in privacy/exceptions/block. No more cookies. Doesn't work for alawar.

WANTED: Question about England's City & Guild online courses

Hello, This is my first time posting and I'm very excited! I was wondering if anyone out there could help me. I'm interested in taking an online course to enhance my quilting skills. The two sites I'm looking at are the Opus school, in England, and the Design Matters Online Courses. Both sites use England's City & Guild standards and structure as their base. question about the online virtual paint programs

Same thing happened to me at SW online. Over time I'm purchased 3 different paint software programs (BM, Lowes & PPG), so I could import photos of my own rooms. The downside to virtual paint software is that none are accurate to the real life swatch. Individual computer monitors and computer graphics cards are factors that contribute to the difference. On the positive side, the virtual programs are a blessing in that they can guide us to colors, shades, undertones that will work and show us clearly what won't work, then we can go and get real life swatches in those colors, narrow it down and get sample pots (or a quart if necessary), paint them on poster board and get to a color we're happy with, rather than taking a shot in the dark and risking a do-over ;)

In general, if you do a Google search on a website's name plus the word scam you should get lots of results if there's a problem with the site. This has always worked pretty well for me.

Sorry about not checking back sooner. Many thanks to everyone for your answers.
I had entered the website's name in Google, kudzu9 - but not the word "scam" along with it. Of course what came back to me was all the wonderful stuff written by the website itself. Thank you for supplying the missing link, kudzu9.
Looks like I shall be installing WOT. Thank you EmmaR and owbist (And I will be spam checking for a while.)
Now for some worry-free playing.
