Which version of Thunderbird is best?

Posted by secsteve (My Page) on

I've read all the posts but am still a bit confused.

I want to switch from Eudora to Thunderbird and currently they are on version 13. something. I'm using windows XP SP3.

I've read about problems with this newest version as well as some with older versions.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Which version of Thunderbird is best?

I am using the current version TB v14.0 with the add-on Lightning v1.6. Through it I access two Hotmail accounts. I have been using TB for a couple of years now without any mail client concerns.

However, I do have a reoccurring concern with TB not being supported/protected by the AVG e-mail scanner. However, a minor AVG file edit resolves that quickly.
