if the pc has wireless capability built in then all you would need to do is disconnect it from the router by the wire and see if it finds the wireless connection if it has everything it needs (and is enabled) then you should see in the bottom right by the clock where it is trying to connect just like you would on a laptop, you would need to enter your network passphrase into the box that pops up to allow you to connect to your network. I just looked up the specs listed for your p6310 and the networking options for it are as listed Choices: Integrated 10/100 Ethernet, No wireless LAN Modem Premium Wireless-N LAN card Wireless-N LAN card Premium Wireless-N LAN card and Bluetooth(R ) unless you chose the first one that says no wireless then you should have that capability on the pc. I would run a belarc and get all the info specific to your pc you can always print it out and keep it because that info is often needed and having it on hand can come in very handy. That way you know exactly what is in that pc. Belarc If your pc does not have the card for wireless then you can either add a card or get a usb device.

I have enjoyed the disucssions here. I am on the quest to find what I will be able to do in my new RV. The main issue will of course be first getting a wifi signal from something. I do have an ATT air card which has a 5GB cap, I have my cell phone but have the minimum data plan on it currently and they do not offer an unlimited. I have a zyxel portable router that can make a hotspot from a wifi signal. 11n-compatible Wi-Fi router supports DSL/Cable and 3G connectivity, and a unique failover capability; should your wired connection be interrupted for any reason, the MWR222 will automatically switch to a 3G/4G wireless signal via the users Mobile Broadband Adapter modem. So now I have the ability to have enough wifi in the RV to use any of the devices I want to use. but I need to search out other cheap(ha!) sources to obtain an internet signal on the road. I know some places we will stay do provide free wifi and using my own portable router will make that wifi secure, but for those places out in the boondocks that don't provide wifi, I will need some kind of access. My ATT air card at 5GB cap sure won't allow much streaming of anything. Any thoughts? I have been looking at Roku and other boxes and with the usb port I definitely could download plenty of my own content to have available to view for the times I am not able to gain decent access to anything. The RV does have a roof top antenna and it is wired for cable for when we are at a site with cable. I do have direct tv at home and I know they do offer an on the road version to be able to use you current direct tv account with RV direct tv equipment, no idea of additional costs. the zyxel I have MWR222

I cannot say under what circumstances or why due to an employment confidentiality agreement, but I weekly see too many instances of young people age 16 to majority which were/are victims of parental neglect. I am not speaking of physical, environmental or mental abuse. I am speaking of neglect. Neglect where the parents couldn't care or wouldn't care as to the conduct, activity, and development of their offspring. Besides the lack of guidance the neglect contributes to the development of a cavalier attitude by the youth. The attitude over time will manifest itself into a demeanor which is rebellious, counter productive to society, and difficult to modify. Youths develop their own opinions and test boundaries as they mature. This is normal and to be expected. Adults (read parents and/or guardians here) are expected to be there as a superiority figure and guidance. When maturing a youth expects and wants limitations as there is still a sense of security in having them. There is also a feeling of accomplishment when complying with directives. Unfortunately too often adults want to be their friends, don't care, or are just too " busy". What's even worse is when the apathy rises to a level where the adult is excusatory for the youths. The socialist precept of "It takes a village....." is in error. It takes a parent/guardian. Owbist, Thank you for the kind words. FYI: All my children are in their thirties. They were all scholar athletes in high school and members of "Who's Who in High School America". They all graduated from college and have careers. I never had to bail them out of jail or take them to a drug clinic. It wasn't easy, but who said it would be. They are now all married, and the girls got the boyfriend, marriage, child, in the right order. Three lovely and adorable grandchildren. follow the directions given with the router you do not change any cords till the cd tells you to take that step. Leave your desktop as you have had it, put the cd in the desktop cd drawer, run the cd follow the instructions it will tell you and show you exactly how and when to change the cords it will lead you through step by step, READ the instruction pamphlet that came with it that tells you what the cd does. When it tells you to set up a password for the router do it and write it down then tape that to the bottom of your router along with the name you give the SSID for your wireless network, you will at some point have to select to choose WPA2 for your method of security it is generally set there default, then it will give you a long WPA password you can accept that or create your own just keep that one it is more secure than one you create, be very very sure you write it down as it is caps and lower case and put that on the paper under the router. That is the key anyone in your house that wants to get on the wireless will need to enter into their laptop to connect, so that laptop will detect the wireless and then will ask for the password that is the one you just saved so you will enter that into the box and then it should connect if all is correct. On my linksys it asked during the set up if I wanted to print out all that info and yes I did and it also asked if you want to put a text file on your desktop with the info sure let it do that too you can delete it at any time if you no longer need it. Just take it one step at a time do not change anything till you have the cd in the machine and it tells you to. depending on the router you bought you can go to the company website and look up the model number and they all have a pdf manual on line with directions and pictures also. If you tell us which router you got someone might know more specifics of that particular one.
