I think I was off on part of my complaint. In figuring out the archived cottage garden messages, I forgot to account for the three different sections of the forum: Discussion, Conversations, and Gallery. When I add those in, I get about the same total as other forums I see here. I apologize for the mistake. The main issue still stands, though. iVillage gives us a paltry amount of storage space for old messages. If each text message takes up 100K of storage space, which I think is way over-generous, 2000 messages times about 250 forums adds up to 50 Meg of storage space. You could put that into a small corner of the hard drive on your oldest computer and never know it was there. I'm sure iVillage could afford to give us 100 times that much space without even buying a new hard drive. C'mon iVillage, what do you say? ThinMan

Mikie's suggestion is a good one. Go ahead and download one of the free firewalls recommended, but hold off on installing. I'm assuming you download to a special folder or to your desktop. When you are ready to install ZA or Comodo, go to Control Panel and open Security Center. Scroll down to "Manage Security Settings. . ." and click on Windows Firewall. There you can turn it off (not recommended by MS). Then install the other firewall that you downloaded. Once you do that, then the Security Center will show that you have a firewall enabled.

Sjerin, sometimes there is something worth looking at. I don't want to block her completely for that reason. I guess I could mark it as Spam, and it will go to my spam folder. That would work. But this whole episode negates the Filter aspect. I've read where some people designate several emails to separate folders/filters. Recipes, Freecycle, store fliers etc etc. Isn't that what all the time-management gurus say, and how to clean up clutter in your inbox.

I remember reading that...but it's still just as funny.... I am completely surprised that I didn't find a post from me on there...My DH has done a few things during our 42 years that I tell on him every now and then. patti
