Hi, grandms Yeah, since my main interest is in YouTube vids at this point, I was hoping to avoid downloading a whole separate program for this. It seems that not all YT videos are html5, so I may start to play one in Opera (with the WebM Plus extension) and it will not play correctly. By the same token, when I open a video in FF or Comodo [Chrome] and right-click the video area, it will often give menu options for Adobe Flash Player. I suppose at this point it's a matter of waiting for YT to get everything switched over to html5 format. (Can they 'retrofit' videos for that, or will videos already made not be upgraded ?) At that time I imagine YT users won't need the Adobe player any longer and will only have YT's own player ?? Oh, well. I'll keep playing around with this.... (It's a slow start to the new year.) :-)

What a coincidence! I tried to post a message a few minutes ago and got a message about cookies. I took a break, went to KT, posted with no problem, and came back here to try again. I found that I no longer have Flash Player. Somewhere in all the troubles I had recently it must have been deleted. I have tried to get it by clicking on a video that has a small box that says click here to download Flash Player. I download it but then I get a red box that tells me to read the agreement, which I've not found. I did get a list of Flash programs and I clicked on the version 10. It just sits there downloading endlessly. I went to FF addons and found this. Download YouTube Videos + Flash Video Downloader / Download-Helper 3.3.1 So, that is what I need? In Control Panel I have Adobe Reader 9.3.4. which is used for my church newsletter. Will I lose that if I get Flash Player? Firefox default browser. HP Media Center XP SP3 TIA Sue

Hi, I'm David's Mom. He asked me to post for him as his computer & phone are down. Last nite his flash drive started working fine. He thought it was because he turned the flash to a lower quality but today he turned it back up & it was still working. A short time later everything went.. even his TV is fuzzy. He has talked to Charter & they say there is a problem in his area. They are going to give him a new modem (his is very old) & a new box for the TV Wednesday. I sure hope by tomorrow the problem charter is having will be fixed. We will keep in touch as to what is happening after Wednesday. BTW I tested my computer speed on this page & it is very slow. Download 3.22.. Upload 1.05..My computer is about 6 years old. His speed was above what it should be. Thanks, Dar

That thought had entered my mind. They've been upgrading by sections,and got to my area late winter. Since they were replacing both equipment and cable, I figured there might be problems, but no, not while they were here. After they moved on is when the buggy video started. If I call the office, I get horrible info. If I call the IT dept, they say there are no problems in my area and to replace the router. I'll probably go that route, there's no cost involved. I know from talking to others miles from me that the internet can be "erratic". I'm going to talk to my neighbors on my road and see what they have to say, see if I can talk to the one and only engineer who works for my provider, I've spoken with him in the past, a real nice guy, and take it slow before I dump Dish.
