Can't load my own ISP's web page

I'm new to Windows 7 so I'll probably have a lot more questions.

I can load any other page except the home page of my ISP.
All it does is time out. According to Down For Everyone or Just For Me it is working.
So I guess the problem is with my end.
I also can't send mail thru my ISP. But that may be a problem with my mail settings. If I could load my ISP page I could see what settings to use.

How do I troubleshoot this problem.

Why wouldn't you contact your ISP's tech support straight away?

I plan on calling them if no one here can solve it.
I thought I'd try here first.

I can connect from other locations.
Just not my LAN.

Robert, thank you so much for going into detail about the roses that did well for you in SoCa. I am really glad that I have already some of them (Charles Darwin, Jude the Obscure, Sister Elizabeth, Yolande d'Aragon), and I will think of the others that worked for you when you were gardening there. Yves Piaget is especially appealing to me! Thanks for posting more great rose pics! Seeing your photos forces me to try 'Munstead Wood' and I really like 'The Wedgewood Rose'. I had to load "Ad Block" and "Script Block" on Fire Fox just to keep this site viewable. It is a shame when such a great site would rather sell out to commercials and harass its real supporters. I have joined Jon's site and hope to see all the wonderful folks from here over there too. I will still visit here but will shift my loyalties to the "Encanto Forum". Herman you should have your web site back up, you have just as much right to it as they do to their site, you are not competing with GW or its advertisers. Just this incident should have generated enough publicity to get you started and hopefully by word of mouth and email create some business for you. Don't give up! Woody.

The label says it has 512 MB of memory. I'm not sure which memory this is referring to, but if it is the RAM on the motherboard, it could use an upgrade. Windows XP likes to have 2 Gigabyte (2 GB) or more. You are using a wireless router on a DSL sevice. Make sure that your wireless router is secured so that someone else within range can't horn in and ride piggyback on your connection for free. The more computers using the connection, the slower it gets for any one computer. The next potential bottle neck is the DSL service. If this is over a phone line, it may not be a large jump in speed over a standard dial-up service. A good connection does have marked improvement in speed, but a troublesome connection looses much speed advantge. Consider taking the computer to a shop or friend and try on their lines. Another problem, if over a phone line, is a noisy line. Thw phone company can test your phone line for quality. Make sure that you tell the technicam that this line will be used for internet service. If over a phone line, another bottleneck can be the phone company. It may not have installed equipemnt capable of high speed data transfer. If you have a friend who has a high speed cable connection with a wireless router, you may want to try your computer on his connection. Have the computer checked out at a computer shop to discover if it is the computer or the DSL service to your house.

have you tried with a different browser on your cell phone? I have several browsers I use on my phone, firefox, opera mini, and dolphin HD, all are very good but some work better for some things than others. For GW I often use firefox since I can add on adblock plus and easylist which helps block a lot of the ads that make it almost impossible when on a cell phone sized screen. So you may want to try that they are all free and will install in seconds, it you decide you don't want them just go to manage applications and uninstall it. Your phone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread so all of those browsers should be easily available to you from the market. you might also go into your browser settings on the phone and clear all the cache and cookies and stuff see if that might help. To do that on the phone open your browser window then click on your menu button then on the more option , then settings scroll through there to find the cache, cookie, history form data etc try clearing all that it might have saved a corrupt cookie or something.

Flush the browser cache and do the ipconfig /flushDns

Nope, didn't work.
None of the computers here at my house will connect to www.bledsoe.net
I can connect from the house next door using dialup.

After you resolve this issue, I strongly urge you to set up an email account separate from your ISP, such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail. I've probably changed ISPs a half dozen times in 20 years and have always been glad that my email wasn't tethered to my ISP account. Having an independent account means you never have any email hassles if you change ISPs or if your present one goes out of business.

I have a Gmail account. My ISP is the local telephone Co-op.
I don't think they are going out of business anytime soon.

Glad to hear that. The phone company may not go out of business, but they sometimes merge, At any rate, just curious...why were you trying to send email through your ISP, then?

I have one of my email accounts with my ISP.
I currently can receive mail but not send it.
I am sure the problem is with a setting.
I need to get to the ISP website to look up the proper settings.

My phone company is a co-op. I don't think they merge with anyone.
They have been here to stay since 1953. Locally owned.

I did manage to connect using a proxy service. (link below)
