Guess this is a laptop? Some touch pads have extended swipe features that you can disable .. might look around in your Synaptics ? setting or other touch pad settings. Or you can teach your finger to try to stay away from the right side of touch pad and sliding left.. which is probably what you are doing that opens that Charms bar and clock at same time. I have that problem too.. aggravating grrrr. Bottom taskbar you can skinny it down by right clicking and choosing properties ... there you will then see a checkbox to use smaller taskbar buttons.\ Not quite sure what your DataDisk is .... but usually that name is used as a DVD burn program folder that you assemble a bunch of stuff into before telling it to burn to dvd. I think I like my W8.1 desktop more then my W7 laptop! When I bought my desktop I asked that the upgrade to 8.1 be installed and login screen be eliminated. (I hate having to login when I start my computer!!) The only thing I still have a problem with is finding the controls on the right of the screen to shut down the computer......I really want the Start button back!!!! Besides that there are so many things to like about W8.1 and the convenience of having so many controls at the top of the folders. I have my "Desk Top" with my background choice and what icons I want. I must admit I'm still learning and finding new short cuts all the time. I'm a senior so I guess you can teach an "Old Dog" some new tricks :o)

decordummy, don't be scared, every brand has satisfied and unsatisfied customers. One person will rave about their machine and the other will curse the same machine. All you can do is pick through, look at trends, weigh complaints and buy that extended warranty through a reliable retailer. I had one kenmore (was whirlpool mf) that was great, the next kenmore (again whirlpool mf) was an absolute nightmare washer. Current samsung washer has been a dream machine but someone else on here recently asked for advice because their samsung had been a complete disaster (different model/type than mine and this poster's). Some models of one brand seem to be more reliable than others of the same brand. If you have any doubts in that return window, send the machine back and get a different one.

Gravity causes the water to accelerate as it falls, so with that (approx.) 8 foot drop, the water is falling considerably faster at the bottom than at the top. As you see, the flow narrows quite a bit by the time it drops half way and then molecular adhesion/surface tension is overcome. An uninterrupted sheet of water from top to bottom is not reasonably achieved here. A rain shower effect might be to your liking, instead.
