No but check the entire website address that they are reporting as a threat on the report log. Match website address exactly to the site your accessing. I've had it when I used one antivirus software it was reporting threats but when I reviewed the log report for the website address that the alert was given for, it was only a similar naming but not exact to the site I was accessing. If you have a multi-user subscription, you should be able to load it onto other computers at any time during the period of the subscription, and the clock starts ticking when you load the first one on. I have a 3-user subscription to Norton anti-virus and I loaded one right away, and another 6 months later. However, I have the disc. Since you downloaded yours, did you save the program on the first computer? If so, you could make a copy on a flash drive, and plug that into your netbook and install it. If you don't have that option, you should go go the Symantec web site. When you put the program on the first computer, there is typically a registration step that establishes an account at Symantec. Each time the program is installed and registered, the registration process takes you to the web site and the number of program installs is kept track of in your account. If you log into this account right now, it should show that you have two installs left of what you bought. If you don't have the program, and/or you can't remember how to get into your account (or can't retrieve the info), call Symantec tech support and explain the problem and they should be able to walk you through this. It would probably be helpful if you had your online receipt of the purchase handy when you do this.

grandms that link there on the avast site links to the cnet download page if you put your cursor over the download button you can see at the bottom of the screen the cnet address. I bet what is happening when you click on the big download now arrow on that cnet download page, it sends you to another page where the actual download file pops up in a pop up box my guess is you have the pop up blocked and are not seeing it, you firefox or IE should show you a bar at the top saying you need to click there to allow the box. Since you are not seeing that pop up all you are seeing is the link for the pay version. Is your download blocked? if you have that blocked then you probably will not get the one from mikies link either. another site you can try from is major geeks just click on one of the download locations Avast! Lynn if you are happy with McAfee then keep it, I in fact have McAfee on one of my windows computers because I too get it free with my Verizon fios, when I get tired of it or if something goes wacky with it I know I can always just start using one of the free ones like Avast, would not use the new AVG8. There have in the past been problems with McAfee, they have sent out some updates that caused problems on some computers, but they were pretty quick to fix them. I do not use their firewall I use an older version of zonealarm pro. Site advisor has nothing to do with your McAFee suite it is an add on for your browser, you download it from the site I provided in the other thread and simply select which browser you are using and use the download for that browser, Since you are currently using IE get the one that says for Ie, when you decide to get firefox then go and get the one that says for firefox it will then add it to firefox also. it is super simple to do basically one click. It is free for everyone. as to your husbands laptop that would be totally up to you or him. IF he wants to pay for trend micro it is a good program however I think there are free versions that can handle the job like the Avast free. I would probably do that instead of putting AOL on there if he does not need it, AOL is bad about digging into the innards of the pc and when not needed I don't advise putting it on. Now to your daughters pc are you sure you have the McAfee suite actually installed on that pc? I would try logging in with your name since it is under your subscription often times the main user has to do that to enable subscriptions. IF you can not get it to work then make sure you completely remove it from the pc before you install any other antivirus program that goes for any of the computers always completely remove the prior antivirus, you do not want more than one on a pc. McAfee has a detailed directions page on how to uninstall their products. this is the directions you may want to print and keep available. 1. Uninstall all McAfee programs through "Add or Remove Programs" in Windows "Control Panel". 2. Use the MCPR tool, see this article: How to remove supported McAfee consumer products using the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe). This will remove all McAfee remnants from your computer. (you must have Windows Vista, XP or 2000 SP4 to use this tool) 3. Launch Windows Explorer and delete all McAfee files in "Program Files" but especially in "C:\Document and Settings\\Application Data" and "C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data". You have to set Windows Explorer to show all hidden files and folders (Tools > Folder Options > View tab). Just delete the McAfee folders even if they are empty in all the "Application Data" folders.
