Firefox freezing??

I have a MAC, and I have both FIrefox and Safari as my browsers, but until

the last few days I have used Firefox exclusively. For some reason Firefox has started freezing up on me. I try to click on a line, scroll down a page, type, pretty much do anything and it freezes and this little colorful circle appears which twirls around for however long it takes firefox to unfreeze, and then after a few more seconds it freezes again. I have gone through and deleted all of my history files, a large number of bookmarks, and a lot of my email in the thought that too many files were slowing it down. None of that has halped. I contacted my ISP who tested my computer speed and reported that my speed is actually higher that it should be. If I use Safari everything is fine, so it appears to just be a problem with Firefox. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?

I'd make sure it's up-dated first, click help in the firefox browser you can up-date from there. Next thing is to run it in Firefox "Safe Mode" You can also do that in the help menu, click help choose "Restart with add-ons disabled. See how that goes fr starters.

You mentioned clearing the history but you need to clear the cache and cookies, tools, scroll down to the clear history select this, then check the items to clear all up top right corner for time period use drop down list select everything, ok.

I was having a problem with my status bar freezing or hanging when I tried to get in some of the sites I visit. Also our cable company has been doing maintenance in our area so I called them. The tech I talked to the second time said it sounds more like a router problem. I told him I have Linksys, he replied so did he and he sometimes had to unplug and plug it back in, 2 or 3 times a day to work on line. He suggested I disconnect the router for a few days to see if my PC works properly. I did that early this AM and it has been fine so far. I will know more in the morning when I turn the PC on. Since some others had a problem with freezing/hanging on the status bar, this info might help them.

Play fine for me in firefox. When I click the link in firefox windows media player opens and plays the video. Is your computer using windows media player or do you have another? If nothing else works get this extension: IE View Lite. Install the extension then go to the page in firefox, right click on the page and select view this page in ie. From then on when you go to that page in firefox it will open in internet explorer and you can see the videos.

If you Google Potential Connection Issue (Message ID: NAD-2902) It does appear to be some sort of issue with that Motorola modem an other models like it, the biggest problem with your model I saw was over heating. Suggestions, get a new modem if it constantly gives the error and no real issue is present.

I had that problem with Sea Monkey browser. The way I got around it was to create a new profile. Then when it would happen again, I uninstalled Sea Monkey and installed the most current version.

Thank you so much the problem appears to be fixed. The update had automatically loaded yesterday, but I hadn't yet restarted FIrefox due to all of the problems. So I restarted it, and then went into "safe mode". Then deleted the cookies, cache, etc. (I don't think I had ever deleted cookies or the cache)and other than the frezzing happening when I hit the delete button (not surprizing as I can only imagine how much stuff was in those files), everything is back to normal.So thanks to all 3 of you. I love a happy ending :)
