Match.com on yahoo

people using yahoo mail, is there anyway of getting rid of that match.com...After I have read my emails, I have this group of pictures of men/women asking if I want to see singles in my area...I like Yahoo mail otherwise..just that I am sick and tired of seeing this garbage all the time...

Have you tried:

Open your Yahoo mail. In the upper right corner next to your user name is the universal setting logo, like a sun. Click on it. On the appearing drop down menu select "About Our Ads". In the top appearing pane select "Manage". In the Ad Manager you can opt out of interest based ads,or define the interests by configuring permissions.

I used to get a lot of the Bank guy telling of a fellow with millions in the bank who died in a plane crash. Some from Nigeria, but a few from Hong Kong, England or Netherlands ... one from Ireland. Back when Yahoo offered limited storage, they were deleted, but since more storage, I've received over 100 - at one email address. Must be a total of sevral billion by now - maybe close to a billion as my share. Have you got some telling you that you'd won a lottery? Mostly from the U.K. What would I do with all that? oe joyful

Picking just anyone will just lead to a different type of heartache. Its better to find a way to be a happy single than to be a miserable couple! 43 never married, haven't had a date in over twelve years. Happy and enjoying life. Relationships are good if you can find the right person but horrible if you don't so don't kid yourself into thinking that having a person to eat with, watch tv with etc. is all that matters because when he or she is getting on your last nerve you will regret throwing away the peacful, non drama filled, blissful single life you had for the idot your matched up with now.

What about you? Are you ready to make room for another? Or are you truely content as you are? I'm absolutely ready to make room for another. I'm absolutely NOT content as I am. I despise living alone. I suspect it's slowly driving me insane. Even Scripture says it is not good for man (or woman) to be alone. I was traumatized for about two years after my husband left me after 25 years of marriage. Then I realized he had done me the biggest favor and I thoroughly enjoyed the next three to four years. I'm over it now. I need companionship. I need connectedness. I need to be one half of a couple. I had a manfriend. (Hate the word boyfriend as I don't keep company with boys.) I guess we've broken up. Cowardly of him not to be direct about it, if that's what has happened. I'm not good at anything other than directness - like games or nuances or hints. He's really not good for me, but I've come to realize that, for me, a not-so-good relationship is better than no relationship.

I still have hope he will call again. There is someone out there for you!! I mean I got Tony at Walmart. I was a vendor and he would bring my boxes of heavy books out for me. At first I thought he was one of the "special" people that Walmart sometimes hire. When he would bring my books out he would be red faced and didn't say a word, just sorta grinned at me. His mom dressed him funny. A group of Walmart employees started going out to lunch and they included me. Pretty soon Tony started coming along. My DB was playing at a club downtown & I invited all of the "gang" down. Guess who showed up? I was pretty drunk when he got there. Hey my parent were there I had a ride home & a Mom that wouldn't let me get out of line. Anyhooo Tony drove me home in his brand new mustang. After a couple of beers he started talking to me. We sat in front of my parents house talking. I realized he was very smart, just painfully shy. Like I said I was 3 sheets to the wind,and I kissed him. Well let me tell you my eyeballs changed sockets, my toes curled, and I saw fireworks. I just "knew" that he was the one. We started dating in December & married in May 23.5 years ago. And I love him more each day. So don't judge a book by its cover...and if you get married I want to be a bridesmaid!!! lol

Interesting.

I just looked at the e-mail using my IE homepage which is configured as My Yahoo! and through FF using the Yahoo.com as the portal. Both times it was there. Are you finding the settings icon? If so, there are three vertical panes. "About Our Ads" is at the bottom of the third pane.

It doesn't sound like an ad to me. It sounds like an option to make a profile and visit with other people. I remember something like that when I had Yahoo or gmail.

If you're getting legitimate emails from match.com I'd suspect they have an opt out method. Anything at the bottom of the email?

Are you sure it isn't a trojan of some sort?

Maybe a nasty spoof on Match.com? I wouldn't click on anything related to it.

I use IE10...there is no trojan or any viri/malware..I understand thru googling that FFox with Adblock eliminates most lf the prob, but I like and use IE..

You can have more than one browser on your computer, and use for different applications. You don't have to change completely.

I'm suddenly getting yahoo mail busy backgrounds. Seems like they maybe are using flash player for advertising. I'd rather have a dating site than the animated drives you crazy mortgage rates thing I keep seeing, Kind of like those obnoxious tons of smiles, except little animated banks. I'll visit yahoo mail less often unless those things go away or the adblocker/tracking protection thing figures it out.

Yeah, I know I can have more than one browser, I have five on here now..but I want to try and sort out this problem with Yahoo on IE

I use Yahoo with a mail program so never have to log in online and I can avoid all that. Mary
