Sometime print screen is very useful. I used to do it with paint Shop Pro but no long have that. Is there any way I can capture the clipboard? I see paint has a clip board but it is grayed out. Any other program?

RE: print screen

After you have used the "Print Screen" function, the image is saved to the Clipboard. Then you open Paint and click on Edit \ Paste. This is in Windows XP sp3. May be different in other o\s's.

You can also do that with Irfanview.

there are many great print screen/screen capture programs that are much better than the one built in windows, these programs let you save the capture in various file formats like jpg for example and you can then easily open it as you would any other picture or jpg file. For a list of good options check gizmo's list

this way you do not need any other programs to deal with.

If you are using Firefox you may want to give the add-ons Sureshot and/or Awesome Screenshot a try. I have and use both. My preference leans towards AS as being easier to use and more to my personal uses.

just remember that with a browser based one you would be taking shots of what ever is in the browser, with a separate program one you can take shots of your desktop or other objects not browser related.

I do have both a browser add on and a stand alone program so I can easily do both.
