getting rid of Babylon

Hi,I got good help here before. Hope you can help me get this Babylon thing off my computer. It appears to be harmless but it is a PITA.Up at the right top search box where google should be it says Search the web(Babylon)I looked in uninstall & found it & uninstalled it but it is still there. When I used to click the house icon up top right,it would go to my homepage where my gmail option would be. No more.I googled how to get rid of Babylon & found a lot but it is complicated for me.The simple stuff hasn't worked.

which browser and windows version?
First run an updated malwarebytes free scan let it clean what it finds
Then run updated superantispyware free scan ditto above
If you still see any of it get and install Revo uninstaller free, find any references to babylon and remove.
In firefox, tools, addons, make sure it is not included in the list, If it is left click it, disable, remove, restart firefox. Do the same for the plugins.
Go into tools, options, reset your home page, where you see the search engines

Oppps you will need to reset your search engine choice, if babylon is listed remove it from the list and select the option you prefer.

Misti, I know from where you speak!! I have ADD, so getting focused is a daily struggle at our business and at home. I make lists, even if it's not something that will be accomplished for weeks. If you see things as one task at a time and not the whole picture I find it easier not to get overwhelmed. If you'd like to learn to sew I can certainly help you out even long distance. My first suggestion is to pickup a sewing book Readers Digest has one that's my all time fav! or Simplicity has a great one I don't recall it's name but it's spiral bound, that's the one I used when I was teaching beginner's. If there is a Joann Fabrics (their patterns ate always 50% off) in your area check out the pattern books for patterns for nifty pillows. Kate's right you two have been working hard. Kick back for a bit. Remember Rome wasn't built in a day! I've still got boxes that need to be unpacked and I moved here 4 years ago. Don't sweat the small stuff. Side note to getting rid of bermuda-How do you get rid of Oxalis?

The common yellow oxalis we have here has tiny "bulbules" (sp?), which lurk 12 -18 inches under the ground. You can easily pull up the plants, of course, but those tiny bulb things stay under the soil, and up it comes again. I once had a gardener who decided to eradicate it from a flower bed which is about 12 feet long and 6 feet wide. He actually dug up the top 2 feet of soil, and sifted it by hand to get all of the tiny bulbs out. That worked for the first year, but by 2-3 years after he did that, back the oxalis came. So, being lazy, what I do is just admire it in the Spring, except where it is trying to smother other plants. Then just pull it out around those plants. By late Spring here it has died down, and I pretend it is gone. Of course, it comes up again the next Spring. It is one of our first blooming plants to bloom (starts Jan/Feb), so I just regard it as such and let it be mostly. It looks like you have a bermuda lawn. Do not use Roundup, it will kill your lawn. You can spray the entire with a broad leaf week killer. You can get one that attaches to your hose. You may need to spray it a couple of times. That will take care of the weeds that are not grassy weeds. For the grassy weeds it is best to prevent them with pre emergents. They are granular and are applied like fertilizer. If you are in N. TX then you will need to apply that on March 1, June 1 and Sept. 1. If you live in other parts of TX then check with your County extension agency for the proper dates. Keep your grass cut short, 1-1,1/2" . Taller grass will not be as thick. Mow low and mow often. This will help to thicken the grass. Fertilize once the grass start growing well, lightly every 4-6 weeks if you are trying to improve your lawn. Good luck!

Right after I posted,I did a system restore back to the previous day.I haven't seen any sign of Babylon since. I'm kind of holding my breath because that was so simple. I didn't see system restore in any of the many solutions offered when I googled.

You did not see system restore in any of the many solutions offered.

It's not the recommend approach on matters such as this. You would have been much better off following ravencajun's instructions. Your symptoms are gone true, but there maybe left over files from Babylon still remaining. Have you rebooted the computer since the restore? That could bring back Babylon so be aware of that, and let us know.
