| I don't ordinarily us IE but when I click on it I get no response.
It just says ''connecting'' indefinitely. When I try to close it there is a gray box that says ''...not responding..." Where do I start to diagnose the XP. Old Dell. I don't know how to determine which IE. |

| So you apparently have no problem connecting and getting online with some other browser? Only with IE? You might want to just go ahead and download & install a fresh copy of IE8 which is the latest for xp and that might correct anything that may be corrupt. |

| Getting a new IE8 seems to work. Insofar as I know I've no need for IE. It's just that it annoyed me when I clicked on it and got the error message. Wasn't there some old fairy tale about a princess and pea? |

| well it is a good idea to have it working should you need it as a backup and having the newest version is best for security reasons. |
