well deleting a facebook account is not really easy. You can deactivate it but believe me that is not the end of it! that does NOT delete it or your info. I try to make everyone understand you MUST take a lot of steps and effort to get this task done which should be a simple thing but they really don't want you to go so get ready to jump through those hoops! Good for you Kathleen. I play the games still but don't really spend a lot of time on them like some of my FB friends do. My brother has been keeping my Farm Town going for me since with my old computer I was unable to play it any more. I have been back lately now I have this laptop but only to plant crops and send my brother fuel. I have joined some of the games because my friends needed neighbours but I don't play them. I'm almost ready to give up Farmville because of the glitches and the same for the new Treasure Isle. I don't know why I started it to begin with. I do like Treasure Madness though because you don't have to put too much time into it. If I am on the computer I spend my time researching genealogy for myself and do look ups for my friends. Even if I am on the computer I don't sit. I am up and down doing the things around the house that need doing. I don't usually turn my computer on until after 7 pm, then turn it off and then back on after 11 pm. Sometimes I will check in during the day and then forget to shut FB down until I noticed the computer shut down because the battery needed charging. I guess I should keep it plugged in. Most of my friends that play the games like Farmville and Farmtown are at a much higher game level than I am because I just don't spend that kind of time playing. LOL With my old computer that was slow it would take me much longer to do anything compared to how fast my friends got things done. LOL Accepting gift requests on FB was very time consuming and took a long time so when I got this laptop I started to go through all of the gifts and accepted some and got rid of the others and most had expired. Every time I got rid of 100 there was another 100 that had been stored and when I got rid of them there was another 100. There was over 1000 gifts that had been sent to me for the games. I couldn't believe it. LOL That is the reason I don't send out very many game gifts to my friends unless they ask for them. Anne

I joined Facebook a few months ago and like it a lot. I've re-connected with a lot of people who used to be in our church, and a bunch more from college and law school. These are people I always liked, but we grew apart over time, as people do. I probably wouldn't sit down and write them an email or a letter or call them, but Facebook provides just a bit of contact. I'm interested to see their kids and hear a little about their jobs, and I like the odd comment about something interesting in their lives. This is about the right amount of contact for a number of my cousins, too. I am fond of them, but we really only see one another at funerals. I like seeing a little more of them on FB. I don't send food or hugs, I take lots of quizzes but post few of them, and I block posts from anyone who plays "Mafia Wars." I have things set to be pretty private, too. I also love the "Six Degrees of Separation" aspect, where you discover that an acquaintance from work knows your kid's friend's mom.:)

Annie, Sonoma is in the heart of Northern California wine country and has some of the best wineries in California, and so wine is everywhere there. All of the wine offered at the hospital was local, and they had some really good Chardonnay. As a side note for cancelled Thanksgiving - Bernard and Daniel's sister died the day after Thanksgiving - I did not even know that she had been ill. She must have had a heart attack or something like that. Kevin found out from her facebook page, but we have not heard from Bernard, and he was at our house just three weeks ago doing landscaping for us and gave us no clue that his sister was ailing. She called twice while he was visiting. Count your blessings if all that happened was a cancelled dinner! I am personally happy that the worst of our experience was 2-3 days without hot water. We got our new water heater installed Sunday morning and probably overpaid for it, but it was just one of those things. After Northridge, I was without gas and electricity for three days, and so that was a worse disaster. I guess all disasters are relative, but the one you are experiencing at the moment of course gets the most attention. If your family is safe and together, then you have something to be thankful for. I'm trying to put a positive spin on this and not succeeding very well!
