Are you using the same computer?

Can't you just right click on the program and paste the short cut where he wants it. I have games short cuts in 2 or 3 different places.

I can't imagine how I"d go from my start screen to his with a shortcut. Yes, we are using the same computer.

Thanks Sylvia! If the deer stay away I could still have a few odd blooms here and there up til New Yr's. So hopefully I'll be posting some more throughout the next few weeks. Yeah, I think I caught her true persona in that pic!! "Pistol" is the mildest word I can think of for this little stinker! Thanks Jim, Ingrid and Irisgal!! Thank you Florence. I love Christmas too, but it tends to get to be too much anymore. I used to love to decorate inside, but our house is so small, and with my older son moved back in, everything is so cramped. And little Miss Lola and her two buddies (we have two other cats) just get into everything, so it's just not worth the hassle. That's why I concentrated on the outside. And I know it's a bit early to put up the lights, but I'm glad we did it, because it's going to start raining this weekend and possible snow just a few miles above us. And I'm beginning to see a few houses around town lighting up too. I love it! Connie, TWO new kitties?? We almost adopted another one last week. One of the employees at a shop across from my craft shop came over looking for someone to take this adorable white and grey fluffy kitten. But I was good and resisted! I love those plastic ornaments. I have lots of them, but I just know they'd be all over the house! Our other female cat Ginger has a huge collection of toys all over the place. We're constantly stepping on them or kicking them around. Sometimes she collects them all under the dining room table, or under my computer desk. She cracks me up. I love cats! Oh, and Lola has been smacked a few times by the iguana. She just keeps going up and messing with him anyway tho. And, that ATV.... I could just "kill" my husband. He's a garbageman, and he drives me crazy with all the "good" crap he brings home. The ATV was given to him by one of his customers. It isn't running right now. It'll sit there for the next several yrs til I make him give it away to someone else. Just like the old engine-less Camaro he had sitting in the upper part of the backyard for 4-5yrs. I finally had my son put it on the free list on Craig's list, and some guy came the next day with a lift and took it away! Now that spot is where my main pot ghetto is!!!

My old computer sits unplugged it its old box, and awaits that time when my newer one will not run and I cannot determine a quick fix. It has not been updated and it will stay that way since I have no need to update it -- except for current versions of -free- anti-virus and firewall software. That ought to fit within your budget also. It will otherwise serve for my amusement to do those things that you mentioned when its time comes.

My usage is probably similar to yours Nancy. 95% of the time I spend on this computer is spent browsing the Internet, checking email, shopping, and researching. I don't play games except Mahjongg, which is not cpu intensive. This computer does have a quad core but it just happened to be the cheapest on the shelf when I walked into the store to buy one. At the time, I was too impatient to shop around. It fits my needs fine though. It's an Acer with a 3.1 GHz 32 bit AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 645 Processor, 4 gig ram and a 1 terabyte drive. It cost about $399(?) at Walmart without monitor. My other desktop is used as a personal server. Using a high-def TV as a monitor, its time is spent mostly streaming videos from the net and playing my old TV/movie collection. It also runs a web server but it's mostly for my own light use. Such as serving video to my bedroom netbook-TV setup. It also serves a single public Shoutcast stream. It's an old(?) Compaq with a 2600 MHz 64 bit AMD Athlon(tm) Processor LE-1640. It does fine for what it's used for. I suspect my bottleneck is my ISP so even though I run a cheaper computer, I pay for the fastest connection I can afford. Personally, if I were looking to buy another right now, I'd probably be tempted by something similar to this. Not necessary that one but something along that line.

I don't know that either if you are using W 8 or higher. I installed Classic Shell on my W 8 and have not used the 8 menus.

If it was me I would just go to his start screen and keep looking for the game programs and get the shortcut from there.

Thanks, owbist. I couldn't figure out how to get it configured for 2 users, as it's not an option to choose when downloading. Thanks, hubby will be happy man, he misses his solitaire games. He'll thank you too!
