Problems with Adobe Flash Player?

I removed Flash Player after I got hit with massive malware on a government site, on both computers. This was several months ago, and the removal of malware was a major job. Has anyone had any problems with it in the last 2 months or so? I hesitate to re-install after all the problems I had.

I've had minor problems with the last/current version of Flash Player locking up the browsers and stopping internet for a few moments when on certain webpages. I assume it will be fixed soon as I've notice several others having seemingly identical issues.

Its supposed to be more safe than previous versions.. they update it mostly for protecting us from newer threats. If you think you need it .. install it. If you don't miss it.. don't install it. From things I've read its really approaching the time for it to be considered antiquated technology in newer browsers.

As I have previously reported it is my experience with the last several versions of FP that streaming on CBS.com routinely fails, and FF announes the problem was Flash.

A new FP beta is currently in release and the change log reports multiple stability issues. Maybe? Just maybe?

Even with Flash, I think there may be some sites that won't work right in FireFox. For them, FireFox has an extension (aka add-on) called IE View, which I like very much. You can right click and chose "View in IE" from the menu and that particular site will open up right IE while you still have FF open, and then videos and other things such as recalcitrant "submit" buttons and the like will work fine. I am using the original IE View developed by Paul Roub, but it is hard to find at the Extensions site. If you search for IE View, it is on page 5 of the results, so I'll give the URL here. There is also an extension called IE View Lite, which is supposed to have the same features and take less space. Just now I also found something called IE Tab, which looks useful, but I haven't used it yet. Iris Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.228 is the latest version. If you right click on the black are where the video would normally show you will get a pop up showing which version you have. I realise you stated you had the most recent version in your original post. This is the update site for Adobe Flash if you are not up to date. BE SURE to remove the check mark where it suggests installing McAfee too - unless you want McAfeee of course. Are you able to view the nests on the CBC site? Again this morning I too am only getting a black screen at the Hancock site.

Zep, thank you for helping. Just before I read your last post I went to the Adobe forum and other people were having the same problems tonight. Someone had already posted links using a 32 bit download so I tried that and it worked and the regular Shockwave Plug in showed up on my plug in page as enabled. I don't know what 32 bit or 64 bit means or even if I need the 64 bit but I will see if this works. You helped me a few years ago with a computer problem I had so thank you again. Anne

Worked OK for me and I have version 10 Flash Player too. Try shutting down the computer and restarting. How long as this been happening? Here is a link that might be useful: Mediaface

I re-installed it. Went to their site. I need it for our local map. I had notified Adobe of our malware, apparently they had been hacked. I gave them the 2 sites we got hit from. Thanks for the info Mikie, and damccoy. I appreciate any help I can get. I know of the article about the use of it being almost a dinosaur. But, some places do still require it. Thanks again!
