Try this: 1. open your start menu and search "cmd" 2. Right click on the search result which should be a program and run as admin 3. when the command box open type "sfc /scannow" 4. Restart the computer after it is done. 5. See if the problem still persists On a side note there is a good chance it might ask for the windows 7 disc if have the appropriate disc pop it in. If not purchase or complain to windows and they might send you the install disc if they are in a really good mood or if you have a friend who has one all the same. All it is really asking for is a comparison. Ultimately, what sfc /scannow does is checks the integrity of windows related files and repairs them if needed. Thanks, I tried clearing everything and restart it didn't help. I still get the small window saying "sending 2 messages using charter. When I swithched from Charter email to Windows live all of mail including saved went to Windows live and I really need some of these saved messages. I really hope someone can help. TIA

I did get my gmail account to work in WLM, but not the way I had hoped. What I finally did was activate the 2 step verification, and chose my Windows computer as the "app" to be used. Gmail send me a verification code, and then a 16 digit password, with a space after each 4 digits, to use when asked by WLM for my password. After entering the 16 digit password, all my mail for the past six days downloaded in WLM. Instructions were that I would never need to enter this password again, but I did write it down in my little password book, just in case. What I find puzzling is that I have used WLM 12 for almost three years with the same three gmail accounts, all of which worked in the mail program. It was only on Sept. 27 that my default account stopped working and asked repeatedly for my password. At that point I had NOT done the 2 step verification, so this is very infuriating, Google! I was forced into the 2 step verification process to get gmail to recognize my computer as an approved "app".

Access your comcast email account using a browser to their website and it should work fine. After that, you can figure out what's not working with your configuration.
