How do I enlarge this thread when I come on here?

Hi,

I just had a new computer built and when I came on here I noticed the picture of the thread here is smaller and in the center of the page. How do I get the full page for this site? My laptop shows the full page but this desktop does not. How do I fix it? Thank you for your help on this.

Are you using the Metro UI in Windows 8, or are you using Win 7? I'm going to guess it's Win 8...but you didn't say so. Are you having a problem only with this site...or with other sites too?

If you zoom from the keyboard it's somewhat persistent. A zoom in either direction may most likely still be in effect the next time you visit a page.

If using Windows, CTRL + (plus) enlarges the page. CTRL - (minus) shrinks it. CTRL 0 (zero) should reset it to "normal", and F11 is a toggle to get rid of the header, menus, etc. Try it.

The beast answer found but I feel I have seen multiple Pics vs multiple links as I have used from Photobucket. Now the question is were those Pics merged into one and posted. They did not appear to be as I can merge in Word and my email. I'll find one of the post in question and ask the person that sent the post. For now I understand!! Attaching a photograph: This forum supports the ability to attach one single photograph per post. The photograph must be 60K or smaller (which can be rather small unless it is a close up). You can also provide pictures by using a photohosting site like Photobucket, Flikr, Picasa, ImageShack, Webshots, Shutterfly, SmugMug, Snapfish, etc. These sites usually let you create a free account and upload full sized pictures. Once your photo (or photos) is uploaded, you will be given a link to share your pictures with others. Copy that link and paste it in the body of your message. You can have multiple links if you have multiple pictures. If you want to attach a picture here (60K or smaller), first compose your message and then select "preview message". On the next screen you will see a preview of your message and a box that says Image file to upload (optional): Choose the "browse" button to find the picture on your computer (or thumb drive). Select it and attach it. Preview your message once more and then select "submit". If you need to attach another picture, you will need to create a new post. If you want to practice, find the "Test" forum in the list of all forums.

Alex, I have indeed gone with the garden name of 'Hobbiton Gardens'. Maybe I'll get sued by some billion dollar company and they'll seize my conifers and other assets. I felt it appropriate since I am on a hill, surrounded by cool plants, many of them miniature in form - plus I am a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien. I'm working on a nice wooden sign for this Spring. Thanks for all of the compliments fellas. While I may have a few years leg up on you guys, we're basically in the same spot, starting out, chasing cool conifers, putting little guys in the ground and hoping for one day to have a garden anywhere as neat as dcsteg, Stephen(Foxhollow), Coenosiums, et. all. I wish I documented even more at the beginning - you can always delete photos - you can't make more from four years ago. I'll post a few before/after shots this Summer again and as always, I'll add a handful of galleries as long as we keep the thread Nazi's inprisoned. -Will

Bob, as of today, I am intimately involved with every worthless feature of my printer. lol I tried that, I click on it, change it to 400% and it reverts right back to 100. So I turned on the poster option and picked the one that looks like it's 4 times bigger than a regular page and nothing happens, it just freezes up and doesn't print at all. Grrrrr! I'm thinking that should really do it, but what do I know? I give up. I'll stop by a Kinko's or something and use one of their copiers and save myself the aggravation of this thing. Chances are I'll never even use it, but dangitall, I wanted to figure it out! Thanks for trying to help me, though, I do appreciate it!

Option 1: On the page that lists all threads, scroll down to the bottom of the list and type your name in the "Search" box. (Use the Search box at the bottom of the list, not the top of the page) If you just want to search the Kitchens Forum, select the "This Forum" radio button (it should default to selected). If you want to search all iVillage/GardenWeb Forums, select the "Entire Site" radio button. Select the "Search" button The search results will include all threads you started, posted on, or are mentioned. If you selected "This Forum", only the three Kitchens Forum sites will be searched (three sites: Discussions, Conversations, Gallery) If you selected "Entire Site", all GardenWeb sites will be searched Notes: Only somewhat recent threads will be retrieved (last year or two, usually). azinoa, This is Windows 7 sorry I should have said so when I posted. It is only on this site.

cold Weather, I'm sorry to say that none of it worked. Just to let you know I am using Firefox and Windows 7. I first thought that this site had been changed on purpose since I haven't been here for awhile, but when I got on my laptop the page was showing a full screen. I am on my new desktop now.

If you are using Firefox install the FF ad on called No Squint, it can zoom the text and the full zoom level. I usually keep mine set at 115% for both. That little software sure helped me while going through cataract removal. You can also set the background color to something other than the blinding white.

Are you referring to the little red house cartoon? Do you have any slide bars at the bottom of the browser window?

Are you sure holding ctrl and tapping + or tapping - does nothing? On my FF I can use them to move the little house all over the screen when resizing the browser view.

Though a reset was previously referred through use of the keyboard, how about via the toolbar View>Zoom>Reset?

Hi DA, no I am not referring to the little red house cartoon. It's there and OK.

I do not have any slide bars below on this site. Also I lost the firefox icon on top of my firefox page so how do I get that back? Ugh I just created a mess.

Just to let you know that everything is fine. I do have the bottom slide bar and a side slide bar as well. Don't know what the problem was but it appears to be fixed now. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me, I really appreciate it a lot. Oh yes the page is like it is suppose to be too. Have a great day all.
