adobe acrobat

Hi,'
I uninstalled this from my computer a few months ago and now am wondering if I need it and updated adobe reader for PDF files and other applications. Is it safe to have these and where should they be downloaded from ?

Just adobe reader is all most need. Actually you save lots of bytes and updating if you simply use Firefox for viewing pdf files.

Chrome browser also has a pdf viewer. I also downloaded and use Foxit Reader instead of Adobe Reader. Much lighter program, and none of the problems that Adobe has had. Foxit Reader is not related of Firefox browser.

Taunia, Reader is still free. Download HERE from Adobe. I didn't know full Acrobat was ever free, but I think there are some other PDF writer softwares out there that are free. Try a google search. Jill

That's what puzzles me, I don't see a pdf file listed. I've copied (see below)what I received from my contact. She says that she sends this email to about 50 addresses and I'm the only one that has a problem with it. There is no pdf icon anywhere in the email. Subject: Come 'N Take It newsletter Date: Jan 28, 2010 4:10 PM Sorry it's a little late, but here it is. The second page pertains to our upcoming anniversary dance and a list of ideas and items we will need for the decorations. Thanks y'all and Yellow Rock! Just double click on to the pdf icon and it will open. If you want to print it, just drag it on to your desktop and print from there. Please let me know if you have trouble receiving and opening the file. Thanks again! Nancy

I don't believe that you can upload a PDF (Adobe Acrobat) file to Tinypic because it's not a typical image file. Another workaround may be available, but you could try getting a screenshot (open file, enlarge to fit screen, then press Ctrl and Print Screen) of the file and pasting into Paint, then saving as a JPG file. That would upload to Tinypic.

I think if you go to Adobe.com you can find it there. Before it downloads I believe you can check what you want to download, so just uncheck the google part. At least that is what I think I did and I avoided Google junk all over the place.

Have had no problems reading files , just sending, but comforting to know Firefox will let me view PDF.

Surprise. I didn't know pdf's could be viewed and printed using just FF. Thanks for the info Mikie. I subscribe to an online publication that updates weekly in pdf. I disabled PDF Viewer and gave it a test. Had no problem reading and printing info using just the FF viewer.

As I'm sure others have found, it's worthwhile to read the threads even if they don't seem relevant to our situation. There's always something to be learned that we didn't even think to ask about.
