Just Had A Trojan Attack!

I did my taxes via UFile.net last night and today when I went online I got an alert of a Trojan attack. McAffee immediately came on and told me to shut down while they fixed. I also have McAffee Security Plan Plus. Now when I check my system it is all okay.

I know Trojans can steal stuff so do I need to do anything else like my Visa, bank account, ect.

You speak of Malware scans software, is this in McAffee or do I need this protection as well.

you need to install the free malwarebytes update it and run a full scan to make sure nothing is there that McAfee left.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (Win) - Detecting and Removing Malware

I would also do a free superantispyware, these are programs you should have on the pc anyway, update them and run scans with them every few weeks.

The Malwarebytes Anti Malware detected 4 items. Trojan.Agent, Adware.MyWeb, Adware.FunWeb,Trojan.Fakealert.

The SuperAnti Spyware scan detected O items.

Thanks for your help and I feel confident my system is clean.

Bulldinkie, my prayers are going out for you and your husband. My husband had his first heart attack, that we knew of, in 1987 when he was 38. He was extremely athletic, got a lot of the right things for exercise, not overweight, never smoked, didn't drink, minimal fast food, low cholesteral, but blood pressure a little high and did everything they tell you to do to avoid heart attacks. He wound up having 5 by pass surgery but never really got back to normal. At that time we did start to follow a healthy heart diet. About 2004, he had another heart attack while we were laying the foundation for our house. Got him to the hospital and it lasted for three days. We never imagined a heart attack could last that long without killing you. The team of doctors from IU said there was nothing they could do for him and wouldn't put him on the transplant list, but his cardiologist at the VA wouldn't give up and did manage to get him on the heart transplant list. A year and a half later, he got his transplant. My DH changed his diet himself. He became a vegetarian while waiting for the transplant. We think it was the only way he made it while waiting. He cut out salt himself and now if anything has the salt in it, he can taste it and doesn't like it. He's eight years out from his transplant and everyone is surprised he made it past the first seven as a lot don't. He doesn't eat many sweets, his diet is extremely low in fat, but I do use olive oil occasionally and his salt intake is primarily what is natural in food, not what is added. He does eat salt on his eggs and potatoes, but a minimal amount. He's healthy and happy. His doctors think he's a miracle for many reasons. Don't give up and don't let him give up. You'll both benefit from the salt free diet and you'll not even miss it.

The ICE list is a great idea. I had a friend, who one day told me she'd spent 4 days in the hospital. I remember feeling the same way you did. So, she told her daughter to be sure and call me if it ever happened again. One morning three weeks later after making deliveries I returned home at 8:15am to the most awful message. Her daughter had called around 7:30 even before EMS got her mom to the hospital. I was really grateful for the call, but it was already too late. Once a year, I ask here on the forum "How would we know if something happened to you?" in hopes of putting on everyone's mind the thought of making those arrangements. I didn't ask at all this year. I guess I forgot but sure am glad you brought it up. Also very happy your friend is back home and on the mend. Glad you will be contacted if need be in the future.

About 30+ years ago when I was driving my kids to school, I had my first panic attack. At the time I did not know what it was, but it scared the heck out of me. My heart was racing, my chest felt tight and I felt like I was going to faint. I had never experienced anything like it. I was at a stop sign a block from the school and just froze there. I managed to pull over, catch my breath and then felt ok. I did see a doctor later that day and was told it sounded like a panic attack and that it was no big deal. Well it was!! Because it happened while I was driving I became worried that it would happen again, so each time I drove I became very anxious and continued to get them. I finally found a therapist who helped me control them with self talk, breathing exercises and meditation, but it took several months. Thankfully I have not had one since that time, but I sympathize with those that suffer with them. I can see how it could consume someone's life. I was at a point where I did not want to drive anymore. When I was a kid, my mom would quite often have what she called "dizzy spells", but they were actually panic attacks.

I've only seen gasteria twice, and I overpaid the second time because I didn't buy the first lol. I have found a couple neat aloes. I thought gasteria/aloe hybrid possibly because of the distichous (sp?) growth, but learned here that aloes often begin that way and begin to rotate as they mature. I have id'd the striata and still have a NoID. Have to wait until it's larger to ID I suppose. It doesn't seem that happy, I think I'm underwatering it and it wants more light. Those spines used to be bright red. Kd

no not so fast if malwarebytes found those you need to go to another help forum I will provide a link for, register there and tell them exactly what you let us know here, they will assist you to run some more in depth detailed scans that will get the rest of those infections out, believe me they leave stuff behind that has to be removed with these programs.

Not so fast is right, you just did your taxes and disclosed a ton of of personal information on the forms, just the type of the data a bad guy would want. Problem with Trojans is they often carry additional payloads of malware that can and do go undetected. I would follow ravencajun advice and have more in depth scans run at the link provided.

When you first get there you need to click on register -it's at the top after it says 'welcome guest' - and create a new account. It sounds like you haven't done that.

ok I see your post over there where I told you to post, so apparently you did register and got your name set up, I am not understanding what problem you are having now?
To post your log of your scans just copy and paste them into the reply box on your current thread there and submit it.
