I am having a problem. I want to NOT make my HP image zone the default when opening a pic. I actually deleted the program( which said not to because it would interfere with my printer) but it still comes up when opening a pic. It is very, very slow and I do not want or like it(HP Image Zone)Is there not an XP program that will work automatically with photos. Do I need to un install the whole printer set up and do a custom install not adding the image zone crap? By the way when I un installed image zone the printer still works fine but I do not understand why pics STILL open using that program??

It would be helpful to know exactly how you "actually deleted the program". Your post seems to indicate that it was either the wrong method, or that it was unsuccessful in deleting the program. Why not just install another image viewer? There are many available for free-just Google image viewer and you'll find several to choose from. My personal preference is Irfanview, but you might like another. After you install the viewer of your choice, set the association to open images with that program instead of the HP image zone.

I'm looking at some things on Craigslist but when I click on the sellers link to send them an email, Outlook opens. Jane, Whenever I am on a website where I click on their link to send them an email, my outlook express always opens with their addy after the To: So what I do is: I highlight THEIR address, click copy, and paste it after To: in my separate g-mail web account to write to them from there. I never use my OE to respond to any website when OE pops up. OR------If you have like I do, (my g-mails accessed in my OE) while in Outlook express, I leave as is and just change the OE address of mine to my webmail address as if I am writing from g-mail. it would help if you could explain what you mean by crash your pc?? What version of windows are you using? Have you tried using another browser instead of IE like firefox? It is always a good idea to have at least 2 browsers on a pc in case IE fails to work. Have you tried to do a simple system restore to a date when it was working properly? If this is xp here are the directions. System Restore

How to change default printer?

In control panel, Printers and Faxes, just right click the printer you want to use as default and Set as Default Printer. Any printers listed that you don't want, right click and select delete.

With XP you have a very good photo viewer already installed. You need to change the file associations so the computer will seek the Fax and Photo Viewer. Click here for instructions on how to change those associations.

exactly there is no reason to install anything to simply view photos on the pc use what is built in as Owbist states in his post. If you need to edit or alter them that is a different issue.

You do not have to uninstall the HP product once you have changed the file association it will no longer try to open your pics and it may well be needed for other aspects of your printer, I know all of my hp printers come with it.

you can also choose to have your photos open in your browser if you like when you right click on the image and go to choose what to open it with you should have the choice listed there of your browser.

Thanks,changing the file association did the trick.To answer azinoh ,I uninstalled HP Image Zone from the my computer add remove programs, but it was still working to open pics.In fact HP Image Zone Express is still listed but there is no uninstall function for it.
