Looking for good place to buy battery

Hi all, I need to replace the battery in my laptop. Where is a good reliable, inexpensive place? I know there is one place online that Raven recommended, but I can't remember their name. It was a very short name, and I bought something from them once and they seemed very good.

I have an HP Pavilion dv-2173cl notebook,64 bit, 6 cell. Thanks, Janette

PS I think I remember the name - it is buy.com I believe. A couple of questions. Can I replace the 6 volt with a 12 volt? I don't see any measurements of the battery in the description. And is there any downside to a replacement battery? I'm assuming replacement means off-brand.

Some models offer larger cell batteries as replacements...These would offer longer battery power times...Most often, good and inexpensive are pretty difficult to combine...remember, in most cases you get what you pay for

The larger capacity batteries are a huge benefit - but add to weight. End use determines!
For my clients I usually go OEM, because of warranty and support - like recalls for example - is usually (but not always) better. Some 3rd parties provide excellent quality in many case using OEM products. However the thing to consider is battery price vs putting that money to a new unit, cinsidering the curret prices, Sorry I do not have a supplier to recommend. On occasion Radio Shack will have a sale, we got a Fedco Energy+ that way, it was in fact a genuine Toshiba battery under thier stickers.

Hi garyfla. Wow, this is an old post, good to see you! I ordered from dragonflyaquatics dot com back then and have continued every year since (well, with the exception of last yr when I broke my leg and couldn't get out to piddle in my puddle). In fact, just yesterday I was pondering this years order. I need to get on that.. I've had an excellent experience with them and their customer service is nonpareil. Some time back, I realized a few hours after I placed my order online I'd left an item off and called to add it. My order had already shipped (!) but they shipped my addition out the next day and even tossed in some plant weights 'for my trouble' when it was totally my issue, not theirs. I give them a strong recommend. Hope this helps.

Contact one of the Consulting Rosarians in the Philadelphia Rose Society, they may have some recommendations. Unfortunately, many roses sold at local garden centers start at $14+. If you talk to the manager at the nursery, they might be willing to give some kind of discount for a bulk purchase. It is getting late in the season though, the best selection and prime planting of potted plants was at the beginning of May.

Sometimes, on HP laptops especially, the larger cell batteries will be thicker than the OEM, so they will stick out on the bottom. This might be a plus if the battery is located so that this raises the keyboard at the rear. So be sure to check on that.
