I think I have put IE into a coma. . .

I believe the problem started when I d/l IE7. That is when I posted this question: see link.

IE 7 had given me some other problems which I was able to overcome, but since I couldn't resolve the pics problem, I decided to do a System Restore and go back to IE6. I did not try to get Gadwin.

Restore ran for a long time and finally said it couldn't finish due to losing connection. Did that mean Internet connection?

Ran it again, same result.

By going to Start I can get the IE home page, and links from there work. Favorites and all desk top quick links don't work.

From Start I can get Firefox (my default browser) and that is how I can post this. FF Bookmarks work.

I looked around trying to figure out how to repair IE7 or go back to IE6, with no luck.

What do I do now?

HP Media Center XP SP2.

You didnt have to do a system restore to go back to IE6. If you were to go to Control Panel>Add Remove programs and find Internet Explorer 7 then delete it. It will revert back to a newer version of IE6. Then make sure your machine is taken off Automatic MS Updates or it will download and install IE7 again

Yes, looks like either Ipomoea hederacea or Ipomoea nil...both of these are most commonly a blue color There is even 1 leaf in the lower left of the 2nd photo that looks like (perhaps) either Ipomoea coccinea or Ipomoea hederifolia and these 2 species may have smaller blooms that are a reddish ,orange or yellow color... Please post a closeup of any flowerbuds when they develop and I can narrow the ID for you... Hope that helps... TTY,... Ron P.S. - Did you plant any MG's (?) or are the plants volunteers (?)

Yes, GE Cafe matches much better, but having compared them side by side, the Samsung is much nicer and seems sturdier. Gets much better reviews as well. Samsung is at least a closer look than the Kitchen Aid fridge I first looked at. . . As for Bosch, I like the size of KA better, gets solid reviews, liked it in the store, and use one now that is terrific. Thanks!

I have the iPod, smaller than the iPad, just as useful. It uses WiFi through my home computer, no extra bill. I can also use its internet functions anywhere there is a hot spot. I can use all the apps, books, music, etc. without a connection. I use it dozens of times a day. One, I'm constantly listening to audio books...full length, unabridged, audio books. I have 91 loaded into it right not, more in the Apple page. I can purchase audio books on line, or I can put any of the audio CD books I own into the computer and download them into the iPod. I have a Kindle app, so if I have time to sit and read, I can use it. I also have the eBooks and iBooks apps for more reading. It came with a many-functions calander, contacts lists, clocks (world, alarm, timer), voice memo, calculator, more-than-acceptable camera, an unending note pad, a maps function that is better than my high-$ GPS, a Weather app...the list goes on and on. I have a full version Holy Bible, dictionary and theasaurs (be nice if I was using them right now, LOL) I am very busy, and alone, all day, every day. I have the iPod tucked into my running bra strap and an audio book going while I go about my chores and work. When I'm alone I don't have to wear the ear bud because I can hear the books fine. If I want to listen to music I pop it in the Bose docking station and the sounds are wonderful. I don't play games, but I do use it to surf the net when I'm in waiting rooms, etc. I also have a couple movies in it at all times. I can post to my forums, read news, check on anything. I know every store and restaurant in the area that has WiFi!!! It's an amazing tool.

So Cal is only about 1500 miles from my area. I keep checking CL for a nice used sofa, and keep coming across wonderful values for wood case pieces, such as this server. I think it just reflects the state of the economy; people are downsizing their living arrangements, or selling whatever they can to raise money, or, they have no idea what the piece is actually worth.

Mikie, I did the first way and a message saud IE may have already been removes. Unistall anyway. I clicked Yes. IN IE it still says IE7.

I went to Method 2. Typed in %windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe

Message "Windows could not find C:\WINDOWS\ie7 etc, check spelling."

I'm confused.

That's from the original install of IE7, that is the service pack uninstaller.
Which apparently isn't there so its been deleted - if ie7 is still there ..I'm doubtful you're going to be able to uninstall it.

Probably if it were me, I'd reinstall IE7 over top of itself. At least then you should be able to uninstall,, might not need to if reinstalling fixes it.
... try to download ie7.. maybe at download.microsoft.com . I'll go look for it in awhile here.
...Then, before installing it, turn off your firewall if other than the default XP firewall,, and turn off your virus program too.

Can you visit microsoft and the link below and they have a step by step fix it service that might work.

\And if that doesnt work, if you want you can call them for free and tell your tale of whoe.. They either fix ya or tell ya what it'll cost ya before hand. 1-866-234-6020 Tonight till 9pm Pacific, or midnight Eastern time.
Sunday 6am till 3pm Pacific their time.

When you try to use Internet Explorer, it does not work quite right.

Here's where you can find ie7 initial downloader. It determines the package you need and downloads and installs ie7.

I've tried all the suggestions to get IE back up and running. I thought I would go back to v6, but the PC gods wouldn't let me. I tried all of Mickie's links just for the learning possibilities, and ended up with IE7 again. It is working fine, but the problem that got me into all this is still there. I'm only getting a small pic on a big black page of an animal. Just saw a Hyena up close and personal. I think I will try Gadwin when I have time.

I want to thank all of you for your helps and links. I really enjoy trying to learn more about my computer and I'm willing to take some chances in going into new territory. I haven't killed a PC yet. lol

With xp/ie7, you probably will still have and can use IE6. If all this mess hasnt trashed it.
Search the Windows folder for iexplore.exe . The one found in the windows folder will be version6. You can double click it to start it up - but keep in mind when you are using ie6,,, it is not as secure as ie7 .

Where are these critters you want screen captures of ? Link? Maybe someone will suggest how to capture their vids with ie7.

Mikie, here is a list of the cams I watch.

You have to play around with these til you find what time they are running and when you have time to watch.
