"no signal" on monitor

Hello...

When I turned my computer on this morning, I discovered that it was not "communicating" with either the keyboard or the monitor.

PC is a Win XP Pro which has been working fine--up-to-date on virus protection etc. Not sure what additional info to include.

The monitor is getting power. It gives a "no signal" warning when turned off, then back on. Not sure about the keyboard--none of its lights are on. Since the monitor is out, Im not even sure the PC turned on when I pressed the power button, but I do have the light that tells me its on.

I have traced all the cords and they are secure.

Im wondering if theres anything else I can check before hauling it into the shop?

Thanks for any suggestions (I know XP is old and should be replaced. I'd rather keep it for a while if this issue is fixable.)

Jann
