Compaq 15.6' Presario CQ57-439WM Laptop

My niece called last night asking my opinion on the computer linked below. She says she can buy it at Walmart for $268. I does look like a good deal to me, but thought I would get some input. She really doesn't do much online except connect to her family using Face Book and emails.

Thanks,
Jean

ask at fatwallet, slickdeals or hardforum.com
you can also use web searches withe words "versus" "forum"

maybe also lookup vendor reputation.

(and you can clean off the spyware tracking in the amazon url. most amazon urls end with item ID amazon.com/dp/B007DXEOEU/)
2gb ram seems skimpy for *new* Pc in 2012, but that price is low.

facebook is spyware. popular, but still spyware.

For what you say she does it should be fine, it is not much RAM but it can be upgraded to 8GB and RAM is fairly cheap.
I personally prefer AMD processors which this has.
If she can get it for $268 I would go for it. Walmart has easy returns if she finds she is not happy with it.

Thanks Raven...I thought I remembered you saying that Walmart had easy return. She doesn't have much income and the price seemed reasonable. She won't have a lot of music or photos on it....

Thanks again...going to give her a call...☺
