New Asus laptop shut down 4 seconds into booting

My Asus laptop is only 4 months new running Win8. This morning I plugged it in (not using the battery as I don't all the time), hit the on button and it started to boot up as usual, but never made it to the desktop before it shut down. From pressing the on button to when it shut off was 4-5 second. It takes this computer 13 seconds to boot to tiles, regularly. I tried turning it back on several times and the same thing happened. I put the battery in *with it still plugged in and same thing. I unplugged it and tried with just the battery, same thing. Started to research the issue, but gave it one more try with just battery in it, and it booted properly. As of right now, I'm running a complete scan with SuperAntispyware, then will do a scan with Malwarebyes. I current have Kaspersky antivirus on this thing.

Any idea what would cause this to happen? It's my office laptop so I can't be having this happen. Thanks for your help, as always.
