After you have run AVast and let it do it's thing please go and get malwarebytes antimalware and follow these direction. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop. * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program. * At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. * Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan. * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. * When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. For years I used the free ones, like Zone, and also the spyware ones, plus the free firewall. Then I tried Zone Alarm security suite, which worked super great for 5 mo. It had the firewall, spyware, and antivirus all in one item, which was nice. Then on one update, it made the machine go crazy, and I could not update it. We tried for 2 weeks with no success, and I could not use the pc. Finally it went in the shop, and the fellow said that the Zone S. Suite was conflicting with Windows programs. So it had to be removed. That happened in June, and I go on their site, to see how it is going on, and they are still having problems. They also refused to refund my money, which was over half a yr. left. Recently I put in Vipre, after much study. You can get a 15 day trial on it, and also the company has a firewall that is quite good. I bought the virus protection after the trial, and it also has spyware protection, and I love it. Also it uses the less amount of space on your pc, according to their chart on many of the virus protection plans. I had two professionals tell me that Vipre was the way to go, so I have had it now for several months. Darlene

I have Malwarebytes on every computer I own and will never be without it (call me Over Cautious). Elmer is right, I shouldn't need Malwarebytes, but I do have it on my computers and do run it about once a week. Malwarebytes has never let me down! I can't say the same for Norton's, had trouble with Norton's not catching a Virus many, many years ago. Norton's has been doing a great job for me the last 10 years or so though! As I stated above, I do run Malwarebytes about once a week (Manually) and it picks up a few Norton's doesn't consider harmful. I trust Malwarebytes! I do use the Free Version. When Downloading the Definitions just be careful not to press Upgrade, always press Update, that is unless you want to purchase Malwarebytes. Again Elmer is right, I believe Cox does offer the Security Suite, w/McAfee, he post about above! If you have any questions in this matter I'd contact Cox to verify it's included with you package and where it can be downloaded from safely! We have Comcast & Frontier in our area. Comcast offers Norton's Security Suite for up to 5 Devices (use to be 7 devices) even on the Low End Internet Service at $19.99 a month. Frontier offers F-Secure for their Internet Service (not sure on details for Frontier). Most ISP's don't want their customers getting Viruses and Malware making their internet experience unbearable. They also know how important it is that everyone is running a Reputable Up-to-Date Anti-Virus Program on their Desktop Computer, Laptop, Tablet and Cellular Devices. This is why they are including these as part of your package!
