high pitched scrill

I have a high pitch sound & can't seem to locate what it is coming from. I have turned off the computer..monitor, TV, printer & still have it. I know it isn't in my head as I turned that LOL..NO I really went into another room & it was gone. My hopes is it will be gone tomorrow as it is very annoying. Any ideas what it can be?

Believe me I could hear it. I also just figured out what it was. It was my APC. I'm not sure how long it was doing it as I had been gone the earlier part of the evening. I wonder what set it off.. I sure hope I didn't damage the battery. I don't want to have to buy a new one as this one wasn't cheap.. I had to order it.
If I hear it again I know where to look.

A slight whining or high-pitched noise coming from the sprinkler valve is a sign of a small leak or slow leak. While this sound is sometimes accompanied by a telltale trickle of water, the leak may appear not in the exterior of the valve but in the valve shutoff. The sound comes from water channeled through a small hole, the way air is channeled through the stops of a whistle. A leak in the sprinkler valve, whether inside the mechanism or on its exterior, means the valve will require replacement. If a sound is present but no water is streaming out of the valve, try tightening the connectors joining the valve with the pipes before servicing. - This is what I read from a Google search. I ended up replacing it after trying the water pressure suggestion above.

No idea, I'm afraid. Does the noise bother you? Do you want them to stop making it? If that's the case, then go upstairs while the noise is happening and ask them nicely to please stop making it. Or only do it earlier in the day, or whatever solution will work for you. "I don't know what you are doing, but that noise I mentioned last week? It's happening now. Could you please figure out what is causing it and stop it? Thank you." Bear in mind that in some apartment buildings, noise travels strangely. What seems to be directly overhead might actually be on one side, or upstairs and over one unit, something like that. But if you go up while the noise is happening, you will be able to hear if it is coming from that unit or not. Or you could just live with it. Once I had upstairs neighbors who apparently dropped a bowling ball on their living room floor every night about 10 pm. Big thud of something falling, followed by a rolling noise. I never did figure out what it was, but it wasn't annoying enough to bother with trying to get it stopped.

I'm having very similar problems, although my fridge is not a Bosch. The original audio links are no longer working, so I can't compare. The high-pitched, whining / whistling noise really bothers me, but I think I've also become a bit sensitive to the frequency. I would love to hear your objective opinion on the sounds. F&P AeroSmart dryer making a high pitched squeal during "Cooling"

There are several possible sources of squealing: -- belt idler (jockey pulley) assembly (common) -- main drum bearing at the right-center (common) -- secondary drum bearings on the left side (less common) -- drive motor (less common) All of those sources ordinarily would squeal at any time the machine is running, not just during the cool down period. However, the main drum bearing is in the flow of incoming heated air and is subject to temperature variations so it could be involved due to the cool down aspect. This dryer is a different design than "traditional" frontload units, but a competent DIYer should be able to handle repairs. Parts are available online at SearsPartsDirect.com, FisherPaykelParts.com (best prices for new), FisherPaykelParts.net, and eBay (may be some used at low prices). There are instructional videos on YouTube and Vimeo. I've done repairs on mine but I have experience with appliance repair. There are a few tricky spots that may (or may not) come up. Strongly advise not to order any parts until the problem is properly diagnosed to avoid buying items not needed or missing things that are needed. Or, you could opt to go for the two common items, the belt idler pulley kit (P/N 395579) and main drum bearing (P/N 479332). Both are more expensive than reasonable for what they are but less cost than a new dryer. Check the videos first! Changing the drum bearing requires a 7/8" deep-well but thin-wall ratchet socket. One of the glitches I had was that I couldn't loosen the bearing bolt via the usual access so had to do further disassembly to get at it.

Sorry.. I just saw APC on it & called it that..that must be who makes them. I just hope I didn't use up too much of the battery life.

Kudzu9, It was loud enough to be very annoying & could sure hear it but not as loud as I would have thought it should be. It just didn't register what it was. I was getting ready to unplug the whole works & when I saw the plug.. that's when I went uh-oh I know what it is. If it ever happens again I'll sure know what it is right away..

Internet Explorer from a couple versions back.. Microsoft had a tool kit.. one of the items was a yellow highlighter I could mark up text with.

Easy to find key words or stuff marked with yellow magic marker / highliter.

Generally those universal power supplies scream for a reason. The obvious reason is when the power goes out. The other possibility (depending on the sophistication of the unit) when the power is out of preset parameters to warn you something is amiss. If it is indeed a APC (brand) power supply they have the ability to connect to your computer via a USB cable and a free software provided by APC. That software should give you the status of the unit.

As an aside, when the power goes out APC's software calculates the remaining battery life. When the battery level reaches a certain point the software does an orderly shutdown of Windows, which can prevent a host of problems. It's a good feature to have enabled and well worth the cost of a USB cable.

Mine is indeed a APC with software. I think with my last one I had something like a balloon in the system tray If that is what it is called where the clock is. I don't see it here. I don't know how to find it & see why it isn't there. I probably have the USB cable.
Maybe it is something I should just leave alone :-D
