that toolbar is called the bookmarks toolbar, it can accidentally removed when you are adjusting the chrome as you were, when you click on view then toolbars at the top it has the various toolbars listed there if you want it to show it must have a check mark in front of it if you remove the checkmark the toolbar will disappear until you again put a check mark there in front of it in that list. crabbypatty I have done several postings with firefox tips and tricks you can do a search here for them and likely find then or do a search on my name. lotodig- Just so you're more confident, I've re-booted my computer many times over the years using the technique I've described. Several times, for example, my cursor has frozen so I couldn't navigate to do anything, such as re-boot normally. I didn't always know why some problem was happening, but I did know that the power button re-boot would not make anything worse. Usually the only time you can have a problem is if you decide to do a re-boot/re-start of any kind in the middle of some major activity where you are making changes to the computer, such as installing updates or doing a defragmentation. However, in the other 99.9% of cases, all you're doing is cleaning out the RAM of some unexplained little problem and starting fresh.

I guess someday I could consolidate my posts, trials, tribulations and triumphs and put one together. javachick, don't be afraid. It'll only slow you down. Just realize that if you break it, you gotta fix it. See, I started behind the 8-ball. Every time I turn around I find I must either pay to have something redone my DH [ahem] did, or figure out how to do it myself. I admit to saving for big redos, like the plumbing, roof, electrical, windows, drywall, etc., but I'm handling the things that don't scare me to death or I can lift myself. Building and hanging my cabinets, my counter top, lower drywall, I'll paint, and figure out how to install the moldings and trim. Then we have the outside that's not finished... Don't be scared -- but don't settle! Angie_DIY, that is way too funny. Sometimes the things I do have me thinking that. "Oh, Christine, can you be more stupid?" or, "owwwwwwwwwwwwww". Yup. Today I'm going to clean up a bit so I can drag in some of the base cabinets and try to fit them in. :) YEAH! All this under an existing counter top....
