help! It's not the same!!

I got a 'messege' that my 'virtual memory' was low. It said to go to Help/Internet Options/Settings/Disk Space.

This time, when I went to 'Help' in the toolbar, a small window came up- I could go to Internet Options, then I could go no farther. It said to 'pick a catagory', but there was nothing there to pick from! It is an entirely different setup!

What happened?

Low Virtual Memory

often times if you find which programs are the culprits if you shut them down completely or even reboot it will reallocate the held memory, some programs just do not release the memory as they should even when shut down.

raven- I did as the 'first' site you guided me to- 'how can I fix the too little memory in Windows- it showed that
1. iexplorer.exe was 85,000
2. systems was 60,000

I then did not see where there was anything more I was supposed to do.

I then went to 'regcure', and did the free download. It said there were 609 found, and the free system would only cclear 2.

Is this something that I need to buy?

There are so many things to speed up the computer that I don't know which I need to buy, and which is ok with the 'free' stuff.

If the bedrooms are on the same floor then I would use the same wood floor as the one you show in the hallway. I think it starts to look a bit odd if you have too many different hardwoods in the house (really old houses with old floors being an exception).

I did the same thing and it was such a terrible stress. We had a 5 hour gap between needing to be out and being able to move into our new home. We had to pay for our movers to sit on the street with all our stuff loaded into the vans. The selling owners of our new home were unhappy that they didn't get what they thought they deserved for their home, so they wouldn't turn over keys until exactly at 6pm. It was ridiculous. In the end the 6pm deadline came and went and still no keys....we had to break into our own home. I am not sure I would ever do that again. I too didn't sleep for weeks and got such terrible stomach aches for weeks afterwards. Not sure it's worth it to put that much stress on ourselves!

JNM and Silversword! Good to hear from you! Hope everyone has survived Christmas and I wish you all a Happy New Year! Our Christmas was a bit stressfull, as per usual. BM is always hell bend on getting the kids in the morning, so we were having them for dinner. Fine. Organised the whole family gathering around this, only to get a text from kids the day before(!) announcing they'd be visiting 10am till 5pm. I actually felt nauseous when we found out, UGH! Once she gets her precious morning; she needs to have dinner too, of course!! My sweet FDH rang the skids and said that wasn't the plan, family had been organised to suit them and to just cancel 24 hours before was not on. He has a calm way of saying things (while I'm stamping my feet :-) and he managed to persuade them to come as planned. So they came at 5pm and told FDH that BM wanted them back at 7.30pm which I think is just mean. She just cannot let them have a normal dinner at our place with the family, has to try and make it hard, rush us, spoil it, interfere, UGH!!! We unwrapped the pressies and I had made a photo album for the girls, from birth to present, one album for each of them. It took a long long time, and it was worth it. SD13 only saw the cover and lost it. She lost it bad, crying crying crying. I was a bit overwhelmed and cried too, it was so good to see it did something to her. I made the book with the intention of reminding her of the good times we have had, I read about it in the Divorce Poison book. Hopefully one day SD13 will start coming to visit us again. After the unwrapping the kids decided to ring their mom and tell her they didn't want to go back at 7.30 but later on after dinner. We didn't try to persuade them or anything, they had already called her and told her before they told FDH, good for them! So Christmas Dinner was pretty good, I'm happy to say! JNM I have been wondering about how you're doing. I really didn't think it would last with your SD, I thought she'd be back. After all it was you and DH who raised her, I always thought it would be a phase of hers she might have needed to go through :-( It is very hard to accept that she has this 'escape' at hand at her mum's, and that BM would be undermining your every move no doubt. All your hard (and loving) work seems undone :-( Silver: how did it go for you guys? Did you have a good Christmas? Or did you already post? I'd better have a look at the newer posts, Take care!!

You don't need to buy anything, esp. "regcure"

Run the program below:

Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your Desktop.

Note: Vista users must use Run As Administrator
Â Under Main: Select Files to Delete choose: Select All.
Â Click the Empty Selected button.
Â If you use Firefox browser click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Â Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords click No at the prompt.
Â If you use Opera browser click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Â Click the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords click No at the prompt.
Â Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Then open My Computer from the desktop or start menu, click properties tell us how much ram is installed______?

Close My computer. Then double click My Computer once open hold your mouse over LOCAL DISC, a window will pop up about Disk Information tell us what it says there

NO I do not advise the use of registry cleaners, the links I provided did not mention any registry cleaners on them directly, I did see after you posted this that another link in one of them did lead to a different article which mentioned registry cleaning. I was providing the actual steps you were wanting in your original post which was what was on the link I provided.

NO definitely do not buy any registry cleaners and if you downloaded one you can go to add remove and remove it.

The 609 items Regcure 'found' were nothing more than out of date entries and pointers to now non existant programs you have removed over time but poorly written uninstallers failed to find or remove. These are no more harmful than the out of date bus or rail ticket you may have in your pocket.
