Well - I restarted the computer - which enabled me to move the cursor over the task bar until I got a double arrow - then drag it down - and eliminate the second, lower task bar. Now I have a single task bar again - but most of my quick launch items are not there. The start menu and open windows are on the left. Time, print icon, volume icon, secunia icon (which now won't work for me - interminably keeps trying to load) and windows update icon are there. There is no left arrow As for fonts, I can't get them restored in my inbox. I tried changing the font style in firefox options - but nothing changed. Except now - just today - all the computer forum is in a new font and is bold (way too large and bold) - all other web pages are unchanged. Is that just a coincidence that the colors and fonts and boldness here have changed? I will try a system restore later - since several things seem out of whack. I did search the firefox forums - and many people reported this inbox font change since March. No real fixes - a few complicated sounding work-arounds. Doesn't sound like anyone there was happy with the suggested workarounds. Thanks. Lynn.

Some avoid IE on the notion that malware is most often aimed at Windows and it's suite of applications. There's good reason they target those. The close interaction among Microsoft products give them multiple ways to get in. But of course, many people use them and never have a malware problem, because they (1) don't indiscriminately download or open every piece of junk someone forwards to them, (2) they don't open everything a web site invites them to open, (3) they keep a good antivirus/malware program up to date, and (4) they religiously install all MS security patches and service packs. Some take some pleasure in not using EI as sort of a defiant act against MS. There's some perverse bragging also going on. They don't use the browser of the ignorant masses, they use , preferably something the listener hasn't heard of. Kind of like sneering at AOL users. Email clients are mostly just personal preferences, and it's often just whatever they happened to start with. Some are a bit better for one or another persons particular email habits. Note that, since you're using XP, if it was bought many years ago and you're using IE version 6, it is no longer secure, and you should long ago have upgraded. You should also be sure you're now running XP Service Pack 3. Go to: http://support.microsoft.com/ If you have not kept up with security upgrades and service packs, block out some considerable time to download and install everything you need.

works for me. when it was snowing one day i wrote an email to a friend with a snow drift font by typing it, highliting it then changing like i said. i sent on it's way, then i remembered it doesn't show to the recipient if they don't have it on their PC. i use OE 6.

No, no FKB problems. But, I think I know what your problem may be since I occasionally had this problem until I figured it out! Be sure your browser window is wide enough to fit the kitchen that's currently being displayed. Try expanding your browser window so it's wider....that should bring the kitchen to the top. BTW...the font issue others are talking about...have not experience this at all in either version of Firefox that I'm using.... I do have AdBlock Plus on both machines and I did update it, at least on my home machine (3.0.11) recently...sometime this past weekend. I don't remember updating my work machine yet (3.0.12).
