I'm not the administrator?

I have a new Dell with Windows 7. I'm trying to load an older HP Officejet All-In-One and I get a message that I can't load the program because I'm not the administrator. The computer says I have 2 accounts. One says admisistrator and the other says my name and administrator. What am I doing wrong?

first have you checked to make sure what you are loading is windows 7 compatible?

Since it's an older program how can I tell?

OK, I just found the Windows Compatibility site and it says the program is fine.

But it still won't load.

What is the exact name of the printer, the model #??

I would forget about installing an old printer on Win 7 and see if we can just download the driver, if there is a driver for Win 7. In order to find out we need the Exact model # of the printer. Please provide.

Before right clicking on the setup.exe file to run it, try holding down the shift key and choose 'Run as Administrator'.

I have a new Windows 7 laptop and there is a bit of a learning curve :-)

If HP as an uupdated driver for it they will have it on their site, just type the model of your printer in to get all the info about it. Mary

OK, thanks everyone. I got on the HP website and found what I was looking for. I guess I should have done that from the beginning, but I do appreciate everyone's help! Everything's working now.
