transfering files to new computer
| | |
Posted by gogwmos (My Page) on Sun, Feb 5, 12 at 3:12
| I bought a thumb drive to transfer my files, but my documents which say "Microsoft Works Word Processor" under them transfer to the new computer with "WPS File" under them and won't open.
What do I need to install to make them open?

| If you are trying to open the .wps files with Microsoft Word, then you probably need to install a file format converter in Word. I would've looked for you but alas, you didn't say which version of Works or Word you are working with. Another possibility would be to go back to the old computer, open a document with Works, and then use FILE : SAVE AS and save the document in RICH TEXT FORMAT (a .rtf file). Word ought to be able to open that, and then you can SAVE AS to a Word document. |
