Can't install game

Ok bought IGT slots cleopatra II and it installed fine on desktop and works but on laptop after install I click and it opens to a dark screen and doesn't work. In googling I found a slot forum and see I am not the only one with this problem. Suggestions were to make sure direct X is latest and disk checked that on install and it is and about updated video driver and I checked and my latop says I have the latest video driver. Desktop is running windows 7 and is almost a year old and laptop is running windows 7 and is almost 2yrs old.

I will say I have all the other slot games by IGT and they run flawless on the laptop and they were done by masque or hoyle and this one was done by a company called encore and I see people felt it was not made as good as when masque or hoyle did them as far as install glitches and stuff, too fussy.

In looking at my computer specs I have an Intel Pentium dual core cpu T4400 2.20ghz Processor and the game specs say 2.4ghz or faster so is that the problem?

Here are links to my computer specs and the game specs and install trouble shooting and I did turn off my firewall and virus as suggested for the install. I will contact encore but thought maybe someone here had some suggestions I could try. I can play on the desktop but I use the laptop in bed at night and wanted it on here also.

Right click it and choose "Run as administrator" see what that does.

I don't have that option in the list for this icon. With other icons and the other slot icons it's there but this list is a tad different for some reason when you right click. Mary

Thank you -- I guess I am kind of rambling here and not getting to the point. Pal I do love the idea of wood verticals, but they are just too pricey . If i was planning to be here another 20 years I would consider but I think we will be moving within the next 5 years. With that, I want to update with resale in mind (and not spend too much $$(. I have 2 points; the first starts with the sliding patio door window treatment. While we rarely do close the blinds, (more for sun than for privacy)I still need that option. I could probably just get new slats to put in the track for the vertical (cause a few have sort of split and fallen off..)but I keep thinking that they just look so less than good in general. That started me thinking that I should consider perhaps some panels on a rod? Then I wonder because the blinds are 80 or 81 inches long (that little recess of course is not at 84"). Then I wonder if I should add same similar panels to the family room. Secondly- I think about how the couches are 10 years old or older, and are uncomfortable to sit on need replacing....I have looked somewhat but there are so few furniture stores any more and I barely see any blue shown though I love the blue...... . I do love the way the blue plays off all the beige(walls, carpet, cabinets etc). all I see when I look is beige/brown (which might work?) or reds and greesn which I dont think I want. Well I think you maybe helped me out here.I am thinking maybe I should just replace the slats in the vertical blinds... and then ask for help on my wall arrangements? But just to show how my brain works, after I semi came to the realization that I might just replace the verticals (because they ARE functional and they do work- I just have never loved them)... do you think a beige/tan couch could work well in here? and or do you think these would work if I kept the blue? (LINDEN PAISLEY in lake mist?) or if I did add panels would you go with a white like the blinds? Or just leave it alone and just replace /renew the vertical blinds? Check the specifications for the different models. Some approve the installation, some don't. I asked about the difference from the salesperson, who explained some models are UL tested for installation undercounter but some aren't. It is likely due to the time and expense of testing, and possibly some models haven't made it out of the lengthy testing cycle yet. I'm not sure if this is accurate or not, but it's worth asking. Specifically, I was looking at a model that was one size, but the other size was undercounter approved...same internal workings, voltage, wattage, etc but a slightly different sized housing. It was confusing why, but there are models that are approved for your installation location.

You can hard wire (in a suitable for the purpose box) so long as a safe disconnection means is supplied. Wire and connector temperature ratings have to be observed. Most modern higher current oven stacks and induction cooktops are intended to be hard wired. If the range comes with a cord and plug, then this should be used depending on what the installation instructions allow. I would also seriously consider recessing the [a replacement] receptacle box into the floor but would want to review the Code in case it was prohibited in kitchens due to liquid spill hazard (as it is on countertops). A wall recess may also work.

Ok went to the C drive and found the folder and right clicked the icon in there and had run as administrator and same thing, blank screen and I waited a long time to see if it was just taking long to load. Mary

Maybe you could try and run it directly from the program files folder where the game installed to, instead of the icon on the desktop.

Click >Start>click computer> Double click Localdisk, double click the Programs files folder look for the game folder "IGT slots cleopatra II> open it and see if you can do anything from there.

Yesh I went into the C drive and found the game folder and clicked the icon and it won't run from there even if I click administrator, gives a blank screen and the graphics won't load. Is it because my processor is only 2.20 and not 2.4 or higher? That is the only spec I can find lacking it requires. This is really stupid because the other games by them run fine on this laptop and it's just this newer one using encore for the first time.

I have a friend with 2 laptops that might be 1 or 2yr old so gonna check her specs and try it there next week and if her's is not 2.4 or higher and it works then it must be something else I am lacking. It's not like I don't have all the other ones on here to play but really wanted to play this new one as these are some of my favorites I play in real life at the casino. Mary

No I don't think it's a processor issue, the game should at least still open.

So you install that game directly from the Internet as a download right? as opposed to installing from a disk, because I was going to suggest to run it directly from disk. If it is a download you could try 1 more time to download it.

No this was a disk I bought at target. I have all the other IGT slot disks and they run fine on this laptop. I came across the amazon reviews for this one and every one under the sun is having the same problem and complaining but only with this new one and all other disks run fine for them too.

People fee it was not tested good or I don't know what but as I said IGT slots used a company called encore for this one instead of their usual hoyle or masque and I think this company did horrible putting out the disk is the problem.

I have all my windows updates, flash and all that good stuff so I don't get it as the only spec lacking is the processor. I click the icon and it opens to a blank screen and the graphics won't load. I will write a complaint to IGT and encore. At least it works on the desktop. The desktop processor is Intel Core i3 2120

Administrator privileges are required to properly install the program on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7.

The spec sheet you linked to says it has 4 gigs of RAM but we do not know if that is now or when you bought yours, do you have 2 gigs or more?

When they say 'minimum requirements' they usually mean a program will barely run with that so trying it with a processor below spec you can only expect disappointment.

Did you install with administrator privileges?

Minw Came with 4 gigs of ram, that is the exact model and specs I have, that is the exact computer I bought.

I did install with administrative privileges. They really screwed up on using someone else to make this I think. No one ever had this trouble when masque did the games for them. A lot of people wrote for a refund and got it but since it's working on my desktop I won't go that route.

I read nothing but complaints and even people that meet more than the specs can't get it to work, too fussy they claim. Someone with an alienware computer couldn't even get it to work which I know doesn't mean much but they have more than you need to run this. One other person has 4 computers in the house and 2 meet the requirements and 2 are beyond and it will only work on one they claim.

I guess from now on when they put out any new ones gonna have to read the specs careflly as the next one might not even run on this desktop unless IGT hears all the complaints and does not have encore put it out. Mary
