Problems with IE

Have IE 11 and Windows 7.

I very seldom use IE. When I went to use it today, it won't work.

When I click on a favorite, a tab will open but the site won't load. I've tried several of them.

Should I try and repair it, or should I just uninstall and remove it and then reload it? I have so few favorites saved that I really don't care if they are lost.

How should I try to go about repairing it?

Please...keep it simple as I am computer challenged.

Sue here is a short video tutorial on how to fix IE11 in Win7. Get past the first noisy 40 seconds and the real stuff starts.

IE11 is for W8 or 8.1 go back to IE10 ASAP

You might try disabling third party extensions to see if one may be the glitch. If so then you have to figure out which one. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab. In the Settings box under Browsing, remove the checkmark from 'Enable third-party browser extensions' and then click OK. Close all IE browsers for it to take affect.

Mikie, I doubled click the eye and got a Private Report dialog box that read To view a sites privacy summary, select in the list and then click summary. www://webkinz.com/style.css was listed and to the right it said blocked. I highlighted and clicked summary and got Privacy Policy dialog box that read...Could not find a privte policy for www://webkinz.com/style.css To view this sites privacy policy contact the website directly. Also in that dialog box at the bottom it reads..How should cookies from "webkinz . com be handled"? --Compare cookies privacy policy to my settings --Always allow this site to use cookies --Never allow this site to use cookies The first one was checked. Have you tried the link below? Rather than suffer those frustrations why not consider an alternative web browser? Firefox, Opera, Chrome and many more very good programs are available for free. No more hassles. Here is a link that might be useful: Uninstall IE9

Thank you both.

Before either of you replied, I got antsy, and did a couple of different things. Not sure exactly what I did, but anyway, I now have IE10 and it works just fine.

Previously the link by owbist wouldn't play, but now will play just fine. Possibly that was just a problem with my slow ISP that oftentimes is no faster than my old dial up service was.

Now I have 'other' small situations, but will have to come back and work on them sometime later.

I did not know IE11 was only for windows 8. I am on windows 7 and I got the update for it in my list of updates I don't know when and have been using it ever since with no problems at all on both computers. I will leave well enough alone but why was it in my list if I have windows 7? Mary

Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) is a version of Internet Explorer, a web browser, by Microsoft. It was officially released on 17 October 2013 for Windows 8.1 and on 7 November 2013 for Windows 7
