Need help please

Just received a message from Apple stating that my Apple ID was used to purchase an ITune --stated that if I made this don't do anything BUT it was made in error or an unauthorized person made it go to https//applied.apple.com to confirm account holder than change password
I DO NOT have a Apple ID and will not go to the web site suggested because I think it is a scam I do have a Kindle and checked everything out on the items I bought and it is ok so far. Years ago, we had a identity theft problem thru a different CC.
Other that checking and watching my accounts what else should I do. Yes they did type in Apple ID not Apple IP

Yes, it's a common scam email, proved even more by the fact that you don't have an Apple account! Just delete the email and DO NOT click on any links within it.

I get these occasionally from companies with which I have absolutely no dealings/accounts, such as Paypal, Bank of America(!), Amazon and yes, even Apple.

Hi Marie,

Your post reminded me of the article I read from PCWorld (see link below).

In the article it states:

"The fake messages instruct users to click on a link if they didnÃ¢ÂÂt initiate the purchase. The link leads to a phishing site that masquerades as the Apple ID log-in page and harvests credentials inputted by users for later misuse."

Knowing that you DO NOT have an Apple ID was the first hint that the email was a scam. You did the right thing by not clicking on the link.

Other than checking and keeping an eye on your accounts, just be aware of anything that just doesn't appear to be legit to you or click on any links in emails that appear suspicious to you.

Keep your anti virus updated and make sure you are using a firewall for protection. Safe and smart computing is the best preventative medicine. If you are not sure, just ask. There is nothing wrong with being paranoid.

Thank you scotjute and bboy for helping much appreciated. I live in Madera, California, summers are HOT! Triple digits (100-112) June thru August. Winters are cold with temps dropping down in the low 30's. My backyard faces East so I get Sunshine all day long. That section in the picture gets sun exposure for the greater part of the day. There are no other trees planted within 800 feet with exception to the the 80 acres of almond trees just planted last week directly behind my house. I do not prefer pine trees nor any trees that have any type of sticky fruit droppings or sap like substances as I plan on having a BBQ island and seating in the very near vicinity. I hope this information helps. I will check back in tomorrow. Thanks again !! :)

Wow, I love your bed and your dressers! You certainly can fix the damaged night tables. Get a can of Zinser BIN primer, which is a stain blocking primer. (shellac based, so use it in a ventilated area). It dries very quickly and two coats should completely cover the permanent marker with no worry of it bleeding through. Then you can paint with a latex paint, and you can also glaze if you want. There is a glazing medium available (I bought mine at Home Depot),and all you do it mix a little glaze with a little paint (directions are on the can), and apply the glaze where you want it and wipe off with a slightly damp cloth. It's easy and would look fantastic on your lovely furniture!

I think the sage green is lovely, but personally, IMO your lawn is so green that you don't need more, lol. I'd go with bright white, with a soft gray or charcoal roof, and a bright color trim--maybe bright green there, or red? Or a nice glossy black. You rarely see bright, dramatic colors on houses, and IMO that's a shame because they add so much cheer and personality. Houses where I used to live often had those bright red, green, or black trims, and I loved the way they looked (houses were white or cream-color). I also agree re painting the front door and storm door the same color. Phuninthesun's cedar trim is beautiful, though.

Hillary, I am not a professional so I try to think of things that could be done by a homeowner on their own without spending a lot of money. If the grids in your doors cannot be painted then I would paint the door white. I would trim the tree so that the trunk is viable. Evaluate plants to determine if they should be relocated. It is not attractive to cover the lower windows. Plant something attractive and flowering near the door. Grow grass in the small bed at the end of the landing. The entrance will have a cleaner look with that bed gone. Any plants you choose for the center of the foundation should say low.
