If you make a image ... if you have anotherr remote backup drive you can make an image or two easy enough, and probably go back to win7 easy. Otherwise its hard to go back.

Follow the instructions carefully, if they say something isn't compatible.. make sure you uninstall it and do a reboot... if you do the inplace upgrade from the download.

Actually less chance of problems if you do the iso burn to dvd and install it fresh. But then you lose all your installed programs and should backup your personal files. Best to install it totally new. Lose everything method. So backups may be very important.

If you have or install dropbox, on your win7, then sync your personal files to it.. then you can have about 2gb of backup that will reinstall like magic once you re-install dropbox on your win8. Magic !

Do you have a link for a download for Windows 8?
Are you saying when I download it, I will lose My Paint Shop Pros, Olympus Master, Plugin Commander, etc.?

You can keep all.. but its not the best way to install it.. sometimes there are problems when keeping all .. if problems you will have no choice but to refresh it which then you loose all your installed programs.. and need to reinstall them. Usually not a big deal but is time comsuming. And IS the way Microsoft hopes you might use it.
