Yahoo Mail Hacked Again!

80 mil. accounts hacked again, this means the hackers get all your info. Not me don't use it! but was on the Today Show News. Go into your act. and change your password ASAP, and if possible login with a new act.

Got my concern fixed. I found in the IE Internet Options something checked the "Delete Browsing History on Exit" located on the General Tab. The Yahoo interface change is just coincidence. I am wondering if the last IE cumulative update may have done it. Since I am a 98% FF user I never gave a thought to look at the options until today. DA

My original Yahoo-based address was "@yahoo.com", before they made the Canadian system different, and the later one was "@yahoo.ca" ... both were working O.K. about a half hour ago, and I've been using the U.S.-based one without trouble. Sometimes recently when I wanted to send an email, I've been blocked, claiming that it might have been to a questionable address, or perhaps too many addressees (and sometimes a larger number seems to go O.K.) - to try again later ... or call them. On some occasions the "later" works. ole joyful

Keep calm folks. Less than 23,000 active accounts are affected. That's not many considering how many accounts are out there. They didn't hack the whole Yahoo email system like some want you to think."The most important part of this confirmation is that the swiped file is "old" and Yahoo believes less than 5 percent of the credentials are valid. This means less than 22,500 users are affected by this breach, according to Yahoo anyway." You should of course be changing your passwords on a regular basis anyway. Changing a password is easy: - Click Options, then click Mail Options - Click Account Information - Enter your password (at this point you can change a number of things) - Click Change your password, then enter your old password and your new password. You'll get an email confirmation when completed.

I wasn't prompted to reset my Yahoo password but I did anyway. Don't know if mine was hacked but if it was I hope they enjoy reading all my SPAM because that's what I use Yahoo for...a SPAM collector. Webmail is a useful tool but an attack like this demonstrates it's inherent weakness. I'll stick with Thunderbird which never been a problem.

As I understand it, the purpose of whatever information analytics are used by Google and others is to try to tailor ad delivery. Magazines and newspapers have been doing the same thing for years, though perhaps not always with the same information.

No one tracks or cares about how many times a week YOU go to the bank or what route you take to get there. Anyone who wants to track me is more than welcome to do so.

The thing is, the alternative is a string and two tin cans. People aren't willing to ditch their smartphones, most people aren't bothered by the data accumulation aspect.
