How do we buy new plants? A search for intelligent design.
Comments (5)When I first started I'd but 2 or 3 blooming plants very month. The goal of having something in bloom year around. That worked. Then space became a premium so I added more slowly and carefully. Source of purchase has been mostly at our society meeting. We bring in speakers that have plants for sale. I always would buy something from the speaker. In fairness they traveled great distance to speak to us so I liked reciprocating. And the quality of plants from these specialists is very good. Far better than the big box plants. Our annual show provides the best opportunities for more plants and I like to support their efforts for showing up. Then there are gift orchids. Some are from divisions I made. Many I would go out and purchase. For another grower it would be from my collection only. Otherwise I would buy plants in full bloom. The non growers are easily wowed by commercial phals and that is what they get. Great prices from 7 to 15.v And no emotional attachment to the plant for me. If any recipients have success with the plants I will give them more. But if they kill them sorry, no more. I explain that in advance to avoid hurt feelings and to provide motivation....See MoreConsidering this HP WIN7
Comments (17)I bought a really cheap Dell at Walmart two years ago while traveling. Our laptop got virused on the trip and we needed a computer fast. I think I paid $299.00 for a 17" running Win7. It had a year warranty so I figured I could return it at any Walmart during the trip. Never had a bit of trouble with that machine. I don't even know what size hard drive or any specs. Its just used for photos and works well. I have bought computers at Best Buy. Never had any problems either. Never had to return anything. Still have an old HP Win XP netbook (remember those), which works great. We have a bunch of old Dell desktops and laptop which still work. They were purchased from Dell directly. No problems there either. I don't think it really matters where you buy unless you require support after the warranty runs out. Never had that happen and I don't buy contracts. Our problem is - what does one do with all these old computers which still work? I wouldn't worry about where to buy a new one. Jane...See MoreWin. 7 homegroup, printer sharing.
Comments (8)it can be done and once you figure out what it is it is very quick and easy unfortunately I can not remember but I did find it by googling and it was easy to find. I did post the info here for someone so searching here may turn it up also. Have you checked to make sure every single computer in the network has the same workgroup name and printer share name every thing has to be exactly the same on all. this is one site I did use Sharing Files In Windows 7 Setting up your HomeGroup Share a Printer on Your Network from Vista or XP to Windows 7 this one may be the one that helped me out do the directions given by jimbo45 be sure you use the actual names of your computers and printer instead of the example names he uses. 7 Printer sharing...See MoreWin 7 Ultimate activation issue
Comments (10)Are you reloading this after wiping the drive or is this something new you have bought? Check the label on the DVD to see if it is an upgrade and not a full or OEM version. Originally Microsoft allowed Windows 7 upgrades to be installed over themselves to qualify on the assumption that the person owned a previous full or OEM version. That police seems to have changed now as I tried it last week and came unstuck. Which means I now have to install XP, activate, then install as a clean install my Windows 7 operating system....See MoreElmer J Fudd
