Gee whiz, decided I would peek in and see how everyone was doing since it's been so long, and this is what I find. :(

Judy and Arlene sorry to hear about Gary and Harold but I'm happy to hear that they are both doing a little better now.

My brother just recently had a heart attack also. He had to have a quadruple bypass. His arteries were 80% blocked! He had the surgery and did excellent but it sure gave us a scare at the time.... now he is in the recovery mode and can't do much so he's anxious to get back in the swing of things.

I think of you all often although I might not get around here as much.

A speedy recovery wish for Gary and Harold. :)

Harold and I send A SINCERE THANK YOU TO EACH OF YOU for your good wishes.
Harold had a stent put in two years ago just above an artificial aorta. That stent is now blocked %100, BUT, capillaries have formed around it to replace the blocked blood flow. The Dr. could not get the stent open, he said he tried so many times and was afraid to use any more force than he did for fear of it punching a hole through his aorta. So he left it blocked. He said the capillaries that have formed, are carrying a good blood flow (although not as much as the artery/stent would).

Now get this, he said Harold is "healthy" in most other ways so he thinks everything will be ok the way things are as long as there is no further blockage. But he may eventually have to have open heart surgery.
It's all scary, but I am very thankful for the miracle of medicine these days. God was with him.

The heart attack didn't cause any damage and he feels great, but is suppose to be sedate for the next week--THAT has been very difficult! He is not at all a sedate kind of person. Luckily, we have had lots of company, so at least he is sitting while visiting. He is raring to go, But even yesterday when he had a follow up at the Dr., he was cautioned to take it easy for another week.

Back in October my son was sent to the hospital and they found he had appendicitis and that would not have been to bad except his appendix had burst and an abcess had formed and kept the poison inside the abcess. They said when they went in to remove the appendix it just fell apart. It was laying underneath his colon and they had to attach the colon to the small intestine. He was in the hospital for 5 days and when they discharged him, he wasn't allowed to pick up anything larger than 10 pounds and was out of work for 2 weeks.He has gone back to work but he tells me that he gets worn out quickly. If it hadn't have been for that abcess he might not be here now. I am so thankful that he made it through the surgery OK.
I am telling you I can't wait for 2008 to end.
I will say lots of prayers for healing of all three gentlemen.
