Thought I would share a pumpkin carving I did today of a Shiba Inu. Yes... that is snow on the patio table!

Terry... yeah that was pretty good... or should I say purty good! lol It reminds me of a couple of forums at the DogHobbyist and CatHobbyist where they only speak in petspeak. Thanks for the link... that might come in useful for a couple of rednecks I know!!

WOW Bob, I am in awe. I just can't imagine doing all that work and then letting it slowly deteriorate. To bad there isn't some way to preserve them.
We had 70 degree temps here this Halloween, so more trick or treaters than usual. And of course our cat, Patches had to inspect each one. I always enjoy the costumes and especially the little ones trying to remember the words to say in order to get the candy. I always wait for a few seconds, but then give them the goodies even if they can't remember to say "Trick or Treat". They are a delight. I bet the kids just love your house.

Arlene I have been carving pumpkins like this for about 15 years now. The kids as well as the adults do get a kick out of them. In fact the kids call me the pumpkin house. I do know what you mean about putting in all of that work. Each pumpkin takes anywhere from 1-1½ hours to carve. They do have foam Funkins that can be carved like a real pumpkin and you can keep them forever.

I wonder if the finished product has the same effect when you carve the foam ones. It would be neat to save your work--but then you have to find a place to keep them and then you have to dust them and then.... .... oh well maybe photos of the finished product in a nice coffeetable book would be just as good.

Seriously, they are very nice Bob.
Hmmmm, just wondering what you could carve for Thanksgiving and Christmas. lol
