Hi Bob, This bird has pale yellow eyes and he is brown with brown streaks on underparts this is how look young accipiters. Adult are blue-gray on upperparts and reddish on underparts with red eyes (Goshawk have pale gray underparts). Shap-shinned Hawk : -First : look at the streaking of the breast, coarse dense brown streaks, thin and droplet like on Cooper Hawk. -Second : see the well rounded head on picture 1. Cooper Hawk have an axe like head. -Third : look at the nice proportional size of the tail with the entire bird's body. A Cooper Hawk has a tail " too " long. -Fourth : this bird does not have the fierce look of a Cooper Hawk (the skull of a Cooper must be different above the eye to create this fierce look). Those were the points I use to id this Hawk. Luc

It's nice it is to finally have a table in this room - we sold our previous table on Craigslist back in August so we haven't had anything to prop our feet on. leafy, don't give up hope on finding a table - I searched CL for months too and was starting to get discouraged. ttodd, the white deer head is from ZGallerie. loribee, i'll post some more pix soon - we're still in the process of finishing this room - new carpet, a cushion for the back bay window and some paint for the insides of the bookshelves.
